My best friend, who I've known ever since middle school, has developed some black things that are stuck to her teeth. it's not on all of her teeth, just some. I guess maybe it's a buildup of plaque? She has a reaaaally big smile that used to light up the room but now whenever she smiles, all i can think about is the black things. I told her to go to the dentist to get a cleaning/check up but she's not listening. I don't want to seem pushy but I'm worried about her!

I was just wondering how SERIOUS her condition is right now. Her gums are reddish and a bit swollen (is that called a gummy smile?) and her gums are receding. How much does it cost to fix this because I know she's struggling financially (we're all in college.)

I was thinking maybe i'll say that i'm going to go to a dentist for a cleaning and ask her to come along. That might seem too obvious though...

The dentist/oral surgeon wanted to do the operation at a hospital instead of his office. Everything went great untill I had to pay for it. I got stuck with the entire bill, because my dental insurance said "it was a medical proceadure" and my medical insurance said "it was a dental proceadure. What can I do to make these dead beat insurance anancys pay their part?

I have a horrible toothace and this tooth has been bothering me for a lonnng time. I went to the dentist a month or so ago, and he gace me a root canal, and now the same tooth hurts again. My real dentist was sick at the time and they let a temp do my tooth, i had 1 root canal(both with temp dentist) and when i went back to finish the 2nd one the temp dentist forgot what he was supposed to do and almost gave me a crown. It seems like my teeth have gotten worse since i saw that dumb temp dentist. can i sue him, because now the tooth he supposedly fixed that cost like $500 now is in the worst pain ive ever experienced. what do i do? i dont have money to go to a different dentist but im scared to go to my same one.

A nightguard from the dentist runs about $500...anybody have any experience with the cheap ones from like target. the difference is about $480...there has to be a drawback other than having a custom made guard.

I've had braces and had a permanent lower retainer put in. Well the dentist removed it today and never scrapped the cement off of the back of my teeth. Anyone know of a way that I can get it off at home without having to go back to the dentist?

My dentist just recommended it for my daughter. Her teeth are straight, with no gaps. The frenum connects just above her gum line.

I had braces growing up and my teeth are pretty straight. However I've noticed my bottom teeth and one upper tooth seem to be trying to move back to how they were. It's pretty slight now, but I would like to correct it back before it gets any worse. Would Invisalign be my best option? What kind of money should I expect to pay?

I am 28 yrs of age, and have strong white teeth. I have drank coffee (not in excess) for over 10yrs on and off. I brush/floss regularly, bite my nails, and constantly monitor my teeth. I have never had any problems with my teeth, with the exception of being a 5 yr old (decayed tooth that came out and regenerated healthy).

I have never been to the dentist..............Of corse I do overstand that I could pay for this. I have always wondered, even as a kid why All of my freinds or family members that went to the dentist ....all ended having to go back regularly, and have constant problems. I'm not pointing a conspiracy finger at dentist, but in my case.......what would you do?

If it aint broke, dont fix it maybe?....I dunno

I had a tooth out last Friday (nightmare) the dentist started panicing as he couldn't get it out - I'd got an abscess he kept drilling - giving me more anaesthetic - drilling - pushing for over an hour. I was terrified enough without him saying how it wouldn't come and he'd have to try something else - he was sweating profusely, complaining his hand was hurting and getting bad tempered as the phone kept ringing. It was awful...if I thought I was dreading the experience before I got there, now I swear I can't go thru such a thing again. My face is badly bruised, but I've got toothache in the opposite side of my mouth and in my lower jaw...I've also got something sharp sticking out of my gum. He did tell me, he'd had to leave some root in, saying it would make its way out, perhaps taking a couple of years. I've lost faith in him as a dentist, but didn't know if I should go and see another one for a second opinion.
Do I need to go back regarding the sharp object and toothache though
