I was wanting to know, where exactly does the dentist put the stitches after a wisdom extraction? Like, would he of put it deep in my holes?
My hole is open and at the very bottom i see a black thing, is that the stitches??

As long as you don't see any bare bone exposed, the suture is doing its job and it should be fine.

Silk sutures are usually black, yes.

As GoDodgerBlue mentioned, a daily Vitamin C tablet is a good idea. Ascorbic acid is an essential component in collagen metabolism (collagen are the fibers in your gum tissue) and will indeed help your gums heal.

Good luck!

It's a combination of the blood clot & the stitches. Following the dentist's instructions to a T. If he hasn't told you, take to vitamin C a day for about two weeks, something inside helps fill the whole in your mouth. Sounds very weird but it's true. Good luck with the pain.

HELLO,
THE ACTUAL SUTURE IS PUT INTO THE GUMSTO BRING THE OPPOSING ENDS TOGETHER SO THEY WILL HEAL. THIS IS NOT VERY DEEP.
AS FAR AS THE DARK OR BLACK THING THIS MAY BE THE DARK CLOT OR MAY BE SOME DEBRIS FROM EATING DARK FOOD. THE STITCHES THEMSELVES WOULD APPEAR AS THREADS THAT WILL EITHER BE BLACK (SILK) OR GREENISH (DISSOLVING).
