It is a rare benign tumor in your jaw. It will cause major jaw defomrations if not removed. It is usually seen in children under ten and reasons for it's growth are currently unknown. Treatment can be complicated if it is large. Sorry if I scared you. Most of the people who let the tumor develop are not under regular dental care, and don't usually catch it before it is evident with a large lump coming of the side of their face. It sounds like your dental team caught it early, because you care enough about your health to see a dentist regularly. I really hope everything goes smoothly for you.
