Alieve, and some Orajel or anbesol (oragel preffered) gel in addition to the alieve. Please get to your dentist asap as well. Take care. By the way, Alieve has Naproxen as thepain killer, so if you are on certain meds, please check with your dr. or pharmacist first-I did, and I'm glad I did, 'cause I can take it.

those are great recommendation but the dosage seems a little high. I would recommend 600mg of ibuprofen every 6 hours. If this doesn't help i would recommend supplementing with acetaminophen(Tylenol) 500 mg every 6 hours. The maximum daily dosage of ibuprofen is 3200 mg and for tylenol is 4000mg. Now those doses are for healthy individuals with no liver damage. Now if you drink alcoholic beverages regularly those maximum dosages are probably high. However if you follow the dosages i gave you, then you should be alright. 1000mg every 4 hours would put you over the toxicity on both medication. This could be very dangerous. Also long term use of these meds can cause a serious liver problems and serious kidney problems. Before you take a large dose like these please research the each medication to make sure you don't exceed toxic levels

I have bad teeth and I have had alot of toothaches. The one that works for me is Ibuprofen. If you can find it, there is something that is better than orajel on the market too. I live in Ohio and the only place that I can find it is at the local Kroger grocery stores. It is called DenTek Maximum Strength Toothache Relief. It is like the stuff that the dentist uses to numb your gum before they give you the shot of novicaine. It works GREAT!!! I hope your toothache gets better.
