I have had pain in the bottom back molars on both sides of my mouth for about a week now. I have had my wisdom teeth removed so I know it isn't that. If I bite down I can feel the pain get more intense. I can feel with my tongue that the gum line there seems to be raw and tender. At first I only felt it on my right side then that pain subsided and got more intense on my left side and during different times in the day the pain comes and goes. Hot and cold foods do not change the sensitivity. I am going to make an appointment with my dentist. What is odd to me is that it happened on both sides of my mouth at the same time. Any clues?

hi all, well heres my story about 4 years ago i smashed both my front teeth, since then ive had 1 really bad dentist who wouldn't do anything for me for 4 years, ive just found this other dentist (who i am really pleased with) he as recommended a veneer for 1 tooth and an implant for the other tooth.

i got quoted at £2,100 for this work and agreed to it.

anyway ive had my front tooth extracted and given a temporary denture...i went to have the implant put in last week, but my dentist apologised to me and said there isn't enough bone for the implant and recommended that i need a bone graft and it is going to be 6 months before i can have the implant fitted - (total after this treatment is around £3000)… which is ALL my savings, basically i'm just wanting some advice at to what you would do.

i'm 25 and basically wanting all MY OWN teeth back again to last me for the rest of my life, so I said if that took all the money in my bank then so be it, but ive been reading (cont)

I went in August of 05 but i had no work done. I know i need dental work but I couldn't stand the dentist I saw. He was a jerk, making me feel bad about not seeing a dentist in years (Dude...be happy i was even in your office!) then he tried to tell me i needed all these other procedures that i confirmed with him , were unneccessary!

I still need to go see a dentist...not looking forward to it...

I just used my strips for the first time. I read the directions thoroughly but it says nothing about what to do after removing the strips. My teeth feel extremely sticky. Should I just wait for the feeling to go away or am I supposed to brush them right now?

Any help is greatly appreciated :)

I have # 7 missing and ## 9 and 10 had large fillings. After consulting three dentists in my area I've decided to replace a lost tooth with a fixed three-unit bridge (on 6, 7, and 8) and put crowns on 9 and 10. When I arrived at my dentist for the permanent bridge and crowns to be put on, the dentist placed the five-unit fixed bridge. I noticed that this is not what we had planned. The dentist called the lab; they came and got the bridge. In about 45 minutes they had my bridge cut in 3 pieces: three-unit bridge and two crowns. The dentist was ready to fit that permanently just as everything was going the way it supposed to. It was very disturbing to observe what was happening and I asked to have it put on temporary cement for now. Should I accept this dentistry? Are individual crowns and crowns that are part of a bridge made the same? What about the fact that this dentistry was worked on after it was finished. How do I know if the dentistry I've got would look as good as individual crowns I've asked for? One more thing, I’ve paid for five individual crowns.

I had a filling that needed to be replaced (told this in a routine dental check up), so I had it replaced. The dentist seemed to have a very hard time drilling out the composit used to fill the tooth with originally. He commented several times that the composit was really hard and he was really drilling away.

Would the fact that the composit was really hard be the reason the tooth is still sensitive after three weeks? Or is there something else wrong? I am afraid if I ask about it, the dentist will say I need a root canal--anyone had anything similar?

Thanks!

I had two upper widsom teeth pulled on Thursday and have had no problems up to now. After eating tonight my right gum area where the tooth was removed feels different. I cannot really see back there to see if the clot fell out or not. Is there a way to tell if you have developed dry socket, or is this even likely 5 days after extraction?

how much pain is involved? what are the long term risks? any negatives to the surgery?

my orthodontist told me that the ideal treatment for my underbite is jaw surgery, but that I can choose to have 2 of my permanent pre-molars pulled out so he can shift my bottom teeth behind my top.....is this a good way to go?
what's better? losing 2 permanent teeth or going through jaw surgery?

i'm scared of jaw surgery but i also don't want to lose real teeth....what to do....

Okay, I was eating a cookie and I felt something weird in my braces or sumthing and I thought nothing of it. But then I put my finger back there and on the VEEERY back bracet the wire is not in it's place. I can't get it back in and I tried really hard. Should I go back to the Ortho like quick? Or can it wait till my next appoitment on April 4???

Thanx a lot!!!
