Has anyone ever experienced this or know anything about it? It just started happening today! The bottom of my tongue is peeling and feels really weird and you can see the blood vessels. Plus the top of my tongue is white, kinda spotty with cracks....

I recently had a flipper made for one tooth and it was trimmed down but still pretty bug so that if I had swallowed it, I think I would have known at the time.

But, it's been a few days and I have not been able to locate the tooth after looking for it, and now I have this sharp feeling in the right side of my throat here and there.

My dentist says I would have probably felt something sooner so he doubts it as well.

Can this just be strep throat or tonsillitos coming at a bad time and making me worry?

I did take a flashlight and look into my throat and the tonsils do look redish.

The other thing is, the pain is NOT anywhere where I swallow, that pipe seems fine - the pain is more on the right side of my throat, but it feels like something is cutting me there at times.

Ok...I have to do a senior project in order to graduate. I'm going to use my internship at my dentist office for my internship for my project. I'm on my way to becoming a certified dental assistant and need only about 40 hours to finish. Any who... I need to write a paper and I am planning on writing about the different techniques used for the same procedure for kids and adults. For example, doing a root canal on a 10 year old vs. a 45 year old. Now I just made the procedure and ages off the top of my head. But doing the same procedure to different age groups, what you would do differently and how. And then just some basic techniques you would use. So if you're a dentist, dental assistant can you PLEASE help me. My rough draft is due Friday and it has to be min. 5 pgs. I don't know where to start or how to refine my searches. If you have websites, books, articles, ANYTHING, PLEASE let me know. This determines whether I graduate in 3 months. :)
Thank you SO SO SO much!!!!!

I have a filling in one of my back teeth that fell out. Right now I have no serious pain when I eat. I don't have dental insurance and I am a poor college student. I was quoted $150 for xray and a couple hundred for the filling. My question is, if I just let this go untill july, will the tooth be ok? or do I need to get it refilled right away. I am not going to have money untill this summer.

I currently reside in the Washington D.C area. Last week my son had a consultation with an orthodontist and the approximation price for ceramic braces was around $8,500. Would this be the average price that other orthodontist would estimate in the D.C. area?

Also, my son had a previous consultation in Virginia Beach. For $5,000 my son could have gotten the invisalign braces. I would imagine that invisalign would be more expencive than alternative braces. Am I correct? Would my son be better off getting ceramic braces in Virginia Beach?

Thanks

my molar broke in half (1 side is completely gone) and it hurts like hell. when i look in the mirror, it's all black inside which i guess means cavities.... so should i apply for dental insurance and try to save it or just have it pulled? it's 2nd molar from the back so no one can see it even when i smile.

but in the meantime, how do i deal with the pain???????? ouch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im 16 and I got my tongue pierced on March 17th. Today is the 3rd full day of having my tongue piercing. My tongue is a little swollen right now and hurts. But what worries me is how the bottom ball is digging into my bottom gum. It hurts really bad, and is making my mouth sore and my teeth feeling loose. Is it supposed to do that? I talked to some people who already have theirs done and they said its normal, and your bar bell is probably too long for your mouth. They also said that when its healed, the bar bell should have room and the ball shouldn't be digging into my gums anymore. Plus I could also change it and put a smaller bar bell in. I don't know though. Please give me some details and your answers on this.

I have had braces for six months, and the orthodontist just put on elastics. It slipped my mind to ask him how long I would have them on.
Is there a general time period that you have elastics on for?
[EX. two months, one month, five months, etc]

Are there any dental assistance plans out there that can help me pay a high dental bill (around 1400 dollars)? One that would pay off my dentist and let me pay the borrower in monthly installments? please help me. This is depressing.
