I am going to be getting my 4 wisdom teeth out and i was wondering if the dentist can prescribe like vicodin or hydrocodone for the pain since im under 18 (17 years old).

They will probably prescribe you hydrocodone for the pain or Tylenol 3 (Tylenol with codeine). Just have some ice packs handy for the swelling in case you need them. It will not be that bad. When you can rinse use warm salt water. It will heal the area and clean it where food gets in the pockets left after the extraction,.

I was 17 when I had mine removed. I believe the doc gave me percocets for postop pain. I didn't ever take any of them because I don't like to feel loopy. I got by just fine with some ibuprofen and ice cream. In most places a doc can prescribe those types of meds to minors, especially young adults such as yourself.

Depends on the doctor, I am 14 and I got mine pulled about 4 mo. ago. Not only did the doctor put me under for the procedure but he gave me hydrocodone.

Yes. My children were given vicodin. Good luck and follow all instructions.

They give you iboprufen. My cousin was 19. Pretty close.
