My mother has been receiving treatment for cancer since 2003. She has undergone three courses of chemotherapy, but on Friday we got the news that the disease has now overtaken her liver and spread into her lungs. She has been told further treatment would have a tiny chance of success and she should concentrate on trying to enjoy the "months" she has left. My parents own a house in France, they are going down there tomorrow and she expects to die there.

Obviously her family will be visiting and trying to make this period as easy as possible for her. My question is about my four year old son. He is going to see his granny deteriorate rapidly and eventually disappear from his life. We feel he is too young to understand the concept of death, does anyone have any advice on what (if anything) we should be saying to him?

I got my period on June 19th and it ended a couple days later. I am on the pill and use condoms.

This past week I am having mild back pain along with some pelvic pain. I was scared this meant pregnancy so I took two pregnancy tests that were negative...and I mean, I just got my period.

Is there any way I am pregnant?? I do have IBS but I've never had mild back/pelvic pain like this. I did take Imodium a couple times when I didn't need to and Pepto as well, and I have bowel movements every morning but it still seems as though I'm a little constipated.

What do you guys think?? I don't have any of other other "classic" symptoms of pregnancy...

i get like this every month some months are ok and some months like this month are bad. luckily i haven't thrown up at least not yet. I have taken 2 aleves 3 hours ago and its not helping. my mom won't bring me to the doctor. i have had my period for 3 years. what can i do?? i have tried a heating pad on my stomach it didn't help. is there anything else i can do??

We never met each other. Just saw pics and used to talk over phone. He doesn't know when will he be able to come to my country becoz of his job . I visited many times to U.S.A but now I don't have resources to go there .Maybe in future I will be able .Now he is trying to be away and wants me that I marry someone else because I am getting over age. I have never had a fit before, have a neurologist appointment soon.The scarring on my tongue is bad, very dark red.The scarring is down the sides of tongue, mainly on the left side. It is hard to eat, swallow and my speaking is badly impaired.

My period lasted long and was normal heavy for yrs and for the last 3 yrs it became light and short.

Before it lasted for about 5 days, 2-3 days heavy and then light. Its color was dark red and brown.

For the last 3 years, it is bright red. I have it 1,5 days heavy and then a little amount comes for 3 days more and then ends.

I feel that my metabolism has slowed down. I excercize each day, try to eat healthy, take a walk for 45 minutes every nite after dinner, etc...Yet, I don't seem to be losing weight. I would like to lose about 20 lbs.
What suggestions would you have to put my metabolism on "speed"..that is, to help it work better?

pregnacy symptoms right? well i had my period last week. i had it for 6 days and it came early. im on the pill and missed quite a few pill the cycle before last and then missed just one pill during ovulation time on the pack.

My sister had bulemia for several years and is trying to beat it. My mom has taken all of the snacks, cold cuts, peanut butter, etc, and put them in her room whenever the rest of the family is not using it because my sister asked for her to do this. She used to binge eat and then throw everything up. This just doesn't seem healthy to me because it seems like she is trying to avoid certain foods, which you certainly can't do your whole life!

She also won't eat meals with the family. She will make her own, which usually consists of some fruit, and a little bit of meat.

Do you think is an effective way of trying to beat bulemia?
