The next day was the same, but the day after that, the lymph nodes in my groin were swollen. The bite was about two inches in diameter, with a dark spot in the middle like a blood blister, surrounded by a light red, uneven circle. It was on my right upper butt cheek, so whatever it was bit through my shorts and underwear, or crawled up my shorts and bit through my underwear. I ended up taking antibiotics and the swelling went down. Four weeks later, my skin is smooth but still discolored. The doctor said I had some skin loss. It doesn't bother me anymore, but I'm wondering, what the heck was it? I live in the northeast and we don't have the brown recluse or black widow. I never felt a thing when it bit/stung me. Doctor thought some kind of spider, but I'm not sure because it bit through clothes. Any thoughts? Thanks so much for all your help.

Hi, I am a little worried as I have just realized that I have a bald spot where my temple is. I have longish hair so I have just put it back and realized that there is a funny bald patch. Now I have been pulling the hair without really realizing what I am doing. It was coming out in locks!!!! And very easily too. Now I can't be going bald because it is not in the right place. And everywhere else is just fine. It is just this spot. And when I pull my hair back, you can clearly see that the hairline is uneven. It is like I have a bald patch above my ear. My upper back and left shoulder/arm is hurting so bad. The pain is excruciating. Please don't tell me to go to the doctor. I have an appointment set for Thursday. But I was wondering if anyone has a clue about what might be the problem and what I might be able to do between now and then to relieve the pain.

I'll elaborate on what I'm feeling: My lower neck and upper back is sore (like how we feel when we get the flu). Same with my left shoulder. The pain radiates down my left arm-- But, the further down it goes, it feels more like sunburn or like I held my arm over the stove until I got a bit fried. Know what I mean? Asprin isn't killing the pain. Pain killers aren't helping. And I have drank so much booze that my belly is STUFFED.

Does anyone have any advice? Know what's wrong with me or what I could do to ease the pain 'til I see the doc?

I am male 5'6" 145 lb. with a 36" waist, body fat 33%. 15 years old. I was in good shape about a year ago, 5'6" 115 lb with a 28" waist, 13% body fat. My aunt who is in her early 60s has been having swollen legs for several years now but lately it has gotten very bad. She is overweight, but I don't know if her weight alone could be contributing to this. She cannot make more than a couple of steps because it hurts her and she even developed some open sores on her legs. She tells me she has seen several doctors but whatever they have recommended her thus far has not been working. I'd like to help her but I have no clue what condition she has that leads to her legs always being swollen and I would like to know what it could be, along with what could be done to treat this - in terms of diet, activity, etc.

My son is camping with my Grandmother about 4 hours away from where I am. Last night, something bit him on his arm and it's since then swelled up to about a 3 inch radius. This morning, he felt nauseus and my Granmother just called telling me he's feverish and feeling really ill, so she's packing up and bringing him back to her house, which is another three hours from where I am. She plan on bringing him to the doctor or the emergency room as soon as she gets there, depending on if he's the same or worse. My question is, does anyone know what could have bit him for him to have this reaction? They were camping at a campground, digging in the sand and swimming in the ocean in lower Connecticut.

I was sick with pneumonia and I suddently developed acne vulgaris on my back and chest.
