My aunt who is in her early 60s has been having swollen legs for several years now but lately it has gotten very bad. She is overweight, but I don't know if her weight alone could be contributing to this. She cannot make more than a couple of steps because it hurts her and she even developed some open sores on her legs. She tells me she has seen several doctors but whatever they have recommended her thus far has not been working. I'd like to help her but I have no clue what condition she has that leads to her legs always being swollen and I would like to know what it could be, along with what could be done to treat this - in terms of diet, activity, etc.

For reference - she is not diabetic.

Inactivity will cause swelling. Heavy people usually do not move around much.

She must walk and drink lots of water to flush toxins out of her body. and help the circulation.

Ibuprofen will help the swelling. Put a little Hydrogen Peroxide on the sores. It will bubble the bacteria out of the wound and heal it.

Get her on a High vitamin regimen and that will help make her healthier.

I am 66 and take a good Multivitamin every day along with,
acidophiles, B complex, C, D, E, Ginko biloba, Iron, Magnesium, Co Q 10, Niacin, .. For my self I also take
Glucosomine and chondroitin for my knees.

In about three weeks when I started this progam I began feeling much better. Of course a healthy diet it Key. But interestingly enough once I have met all of my vitamin needs, I do not crave everything any more.

Good Luck.

Your aunt could possibly have a condition called congestive heart failure. She should definately be checked by her physician.

Go to the doctor with her. Surely she's not following doctors orders.
