My son is camping with my Grandmother about 4 hours away from where I am. Last night, something bit him on his arm and it's since then swelled up to about a 3 inch radius. This morning, he felt nauseus and my Granmother just called telling me he's feverish and feeling really ill, so she's packing up and bringing him back to her house, which is another three hours from where I am. She plan on bringing him to the doctor or the emergency room as soon as she gets there, depending on if he's the same or worse. My question is, does anyone know what could have bit him for him to have this reaction? They were camping at a campground, digging in the sand and swimming in the ocean in lower Connecticut.

definitely get him to the doctor's or ER
it could realistically be a lot of things, but spider would be my best guess as I believe they are the bugs that oftentimes cause the severe reactions that you mentioned
good luck to your son - I hope he is ok
