Everything is usually categorized/attributed to having calories in one or more of: protein, carbohydrates, fat. So how many calories is in one ounce of alcohol (100% pure) and how does it break down into protein/carb/fat? Does it matter if it's origins is grain alcohol like vodka or comes from beer or wine or whatever?

Alcohols are in a special calorie category of their own, and yield no nutritional benefits. They do not break down into usable proteins, carbohydrates and fats, the three necessary macronutrients.

Carbohydrates produce 4 calories per gram
Proteins produce 4 calories per gram
Fats produce 9 calories per gram
Alcohols produce 7 calories per gram

Converting into fluid ounces, an ounce of pure alcohol yields about 200 calories.

Your body doesn't care where the ethanol comes from, as it will yield the same number of calories per ounce no matter the source. Your body absorbs calories from all sources in a beverage though, not just the alcohol. So you get additional calories from carbohydrates in beer and wine.

Alcohol (ethanol) has 7 Calories (or kcal) per gram, as compared to 4 kcal for carbohydrates and 9 kcal for fat.

The liver metabolizes alcohol by converting it to acetaldehyde by enzymatic processes including alcohol dehydrogenase and an enzyme in the P450 series. It ends up as carbon dioxide and water in the first case, and goes through the citric acid cycle in the second.

Beer and wine have other sugar containing elements, almost no protein or fat. But their alcohol content is rather low, around 5% for beer and under 14% for wine sold in the USA.

Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.

Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.

U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry.

ethanol is converted to sugar and is used as such by the body.
