My 12 year old step son is having his appendix removed later today. We were due to have him for the Easter holidays, his mother says that he can still be picked up on Thursday (she is going away for Easter with her new boyfriend).
Should we still have him for the holidays, the reasons I am concerned, is that we live a 3 1/2 hour journey from his home, and we have 2 quite boisterous, children (4 and 7 years), I am worried that the journey will be uncomfortable for him. How long will his recovery take?

After my daughter's relationship breakup i felt cheated, had no sense of self worth, and was wondering what purpose I had in life. All I could do was cry day and night at the drop of a hat, and lost interest in everything from home duties to going out and going to the gym , even going for walks. It took me writing to a friend and explaining to her what i'd been experiencing before she confronted me and told me I suffered from depression and to seek profesional help. Initially I thought this silly - me depressed over my daughters' break up ? The doctor told me I had the classic signs and put me on medication to stabilise the chemicals that cause this. After 2 weeks I'm feeling better. What caused your depression and how did you cope with it all.?

I am a teenager who pretty much has a good life. i have great friends, great family, even though they are split up. But i find myself sleeping my life away and being miserable 24/7. I try not to be, i try to be enthusiastic towards certain things but i cant help it. My grades are slipping rapidly becuase all i want to do is lay down and cry. I cheat on my homework basically everyday. I cant think of a day that goes by where i havent cheated. I havent talked to my mom about it, because she thinks i make great grades and she is "alwats bragging" about me. Im lost. Im sure this question is asked a lot, but i could really use some help. Thank you. Ryan, Dallas Texas.

I mean like childhood memories, high school, family and friends. Just memories of memorable events just fading from your memory. I do because my memories are what made me. I don't want to forget the good times. I think I might start writing them down.

Up until the past 6 months,I was very bad keeping track of my cycle. As far as I can remember,I do remember some months knowing when I should start and being a few days late.So in order to avoid second guessing I started keeping track. So far this is what my cycle has been. Start of first tracked cycle to the next-28day exact....then from those 28 days to my next I was 2 weeks past my estimated start date with no pregnancy. From the 2 weeks lat to my next start was 28 days, then 28 days and 28 days again...I am now 2 weeks late again,no pregnancy, yet I have not started....

I am not looking for medical advice,I am going to my Dr. this week.I just am curious if other woman have had a pattern similar to this.If I go tomorrow with out starting this will be the latest I have ever been at 2 weeks and 1 day.As said, there is no pregnancy.I have no extra stress,I am not under weight.I do smoke.I am in my early 20's.Sexually active with my fiance only.

Thanks!

I was at Staples with my aunt waiting for her to finish doing all her copies and as I was standing I all of a sudden got really dizzy. I became VERY fatigue. It was to the point where i couldn't stand up anymore and the most important thing in the world was to go to sleep. I tried fighting it, but then collasped to the ground. I couldn't see properly, just a bunch of swirls and as the minutes passed by it got worse. Also, my hearing was going away and as I was trying to tell my brother that something was wrong I couldn't hear him, yet alone myself, speaking. It was a like loud ringing noise was taking over. I had him walk me to the car where I slept for 10 minutes and afterwards I felt perfectly normal. This exact same thing has happened when I was 11, then 14, 16, and I am now 17. Is it bad that this is already going on? I think I remember someone telling me it could be low blood pressure or sugar. And It is low or high that leads to Diabetes?
Thanks.

Sometimes all of a sudden I feel weak and have to get something sweet like a fruit cup or a glass of chocolate milk and sit down for about 20 minutes for the feeling to subside. I feel shaky and weak. After I get the sugar in my syatem I'm back to normal. Could this be something serious or is it normal? Could it be diabetes?

This has happened on my way home from class before and I've had to pull over to a grocery store and get a banana and chocolate milk because otherwise I didn't feel like I could make it home safely.

I was diagnosed about a year ago with hypo-thyroidism and was put on Synthroid.

The problem is, I am beginning to feel like I have no energy again. (even though they have upped my dosage of synthroid) I have to sleep so much, I can't get school work done, and just in general do not feel well at all. I also seem to catch viruses and infections very easily, I've had bronchitis 3 times in the last year and recurring bladder infections, I've been having them from the middle of December to right now.

I went to an endocrinologist Friday and when he examined my thyroid gland, he felt something on the right side of it, so I had to get a lot of bloodwork done and am scheduled to get an ultra-sound next week.

What are the chances of having thyroid cancer, would they call me back if the blood results were abnormal or just wait until I go for my ultra-sound? Sorry I guess I'm just scared = ( If anyone has any idea what's going on, any feedback would be great, thanks...

So I work at Apple Computer Inc. and my job is troubleshooting iPod's and the iTunes Software, this is a very fun job but yet requires being on a computer for 8-10 hours a day. I have noticed that towards the end of the day when i'm getting ready for bed, my left wrist/hand becomes very irritated and sore. It's almost like a jolt of pain going up through my wrist and into my hand? I don't have insurance, but I have mentioned this pain to my direct manager, but she doesn't seem to be taking any action in helping me? Am I showing signs of Carpal Tunnel? If so, who should I talk to about seeing a doctor?
