i have had a soar throat and a little swelling that goes aways and comes back and has been doing so for a few months!! Those are the only symptoms i ever have besides a mild cough! what could it be? mono? strep throat!! please help me!!

I would like to know how long it takes to get results back from,say,ITU pathology reports,on say bowel segments etc.My father had an operation on 2/11/05,the specimens were sent off,but they did not get the results from them until 11/11/05,four days after my father had died.I hope somebody knows how long it is supposed to take to get the results back.

Lately, the top left part of my back has been numb and then it burns. It has been like that for 2 months now. And just 2 days ago, it has been sore. Do I need to see a doctor about this? And what do you call this? Anyone ever had this happen before?

Every internet search I try produces a host of sites about losing weight or calorie counting or gives ideas on how to eat healthy. I want a list of simple healthy meals I can use to create a meal plan, or even a healthy meal plan already made. What I’m looking for is a plan that says, “Hey, here is a list of meals you could eat every day for a month a be healthy.”

I have had very uncomfortable lower back pain for almost a week now. The only relief I get is when I am bent at the waist or sitting. When I stand, or bend my back the other way at all, there is so much pressure and pain. It is very uncomfortable. I have been putting a heating pad on it, and taking aleve, but it's not helping.
Any idea what this could be and how to fix it?????

I have kind of a round face, and I hate how it makes my face look fat, especially in pictures, under my jaw line...I don't actually have a double-chin, but it always looks like it, and it really annoys me. Is there a way to lose weight in your FACE?? I'm sorry if it sounds stupid, but I'm so tired of looking at pictures of myself and hating what I see.

A friend of mine was remarking that this time of year can bring out the blues in him. He tries to bring out and focus on the recent, good memories of the holidays, but the 'early years' memories bubble up and kind of ruin it. Especially, he thinks about his past, his father and mother were always arguing, then Christmas came around and everyone kind of faked it for about a week or so. His father was alcoholic, his mother was very critical and drank sometimes too; both parents came from alcoholic homes. They are both still living and both remarried, so the thought of going to see them again is tough.

Any advice ? Any former alcoholics who had the faking family problem

I've read that all these hard drugs are actually used in prescription medication, it is only the abuse of these drugs that causes problems. I think Heroin is used in pain killers and Meth is in ADHD medication? But Marijuana has no use at all, it just turns people into lazy bums.
