i have had a soar throat and a little swelling that goes aways and comes back and has been doing so for a few months!! Those are the only symptoms i ever have besides a mild cough! what could it be? mono? strep throat!! please help me!!

Sounds to me like you have strep throat. You have to go to the doctor. You need to be prescribe a medication. Sore throats go away. Strep throat only goes away through medication.

You could be a carrier of Strep, yet not show any symptoms. I'd go in for a strep-test just to be sure...Also, might be an allergy of some sort(even a food allergy), you might be getting allergic to all of a sudden...I'd try benadryl at the very least just to see if the symptoms are relieved right away-if they aren't-then it's not an allergen causing it.

You could be just a mouth breather that tends to give you a sore throat every once in awhile.Keep some water next to your bed. Also if it was mono you'd be extremely tired and you would be sleeping all the time.

sore throat and swelling seems to be strep throat. Make sure you take anti-biotics to fix that but see a doctor before taking any prescription stuff.

Gargle with warm salt water to ease the pain and help kill the infection, and GO SEE A DOCTOR.

sweetie go to the doctor so that they can run some tests to tell you for sure what is the problem and maybe put you on some antibiotics to rid of the problem for good. good luck

its not strep I had it and you would be laid up on the couch with flu like sympton and tired as hell , I would go to doctor, have you had anal sex or unprotected sex ?
