It's ok as long as they know what they're doing. Just close your eyes and make sure to keep breathing steadily so you don't make yourself pass out from anxiety.

Yes, it hurts terribly. I don't know what you are having done, but for most things they have to take a LOT of blood, so they use a really big needle. They find a vein that will hold such a big needle and jab it in (sometimes they draw it from your jugular vein in your neck). There are nerves right next to blood vessels, and they burn from the steel of the needle. I have to have someone drive me home afterward, and my arm or my neck are painful for days. Good Luck!!!

Look It hurts but not as much as you think, it hurts really like nothing, but it is your imagination that makes it seem horrible, it is nothing. I was always was scared of shots but I know am not because I had to take them, and when I thought of someone hitting me, I thought this would be easier than that, and it was were easy than you think, and I am talking about when I was a kid back in the old days. It is very easy have a needle in you if you think it is nothing, and if you do not look at it. It is just as an ant trying to bite but cannot do anything, trust it is easy.

To me, it doesn't. If it's done properly, it feels like a little prick and then that's all I ever feel. If you're worried about it, just don't watch when it's being done. You'd never know the needle was there (after the first poke). I, myself, like the watch the blood being sucked out, but I'm just a bit of a nut anyways. Good luck and you really don't have anything to fear. ^ ^ Except perhaps a tiny bruise from afterwards. ;)

Not to me. I am practically immune to the pain. As a junior doctor couldnt find a vein when I was having blood taken before I had my appendix out. They will say somethging like "sharp scratch" and that is all it is just like youve got scratched by a thorn. It will bruise but then that will go away quickly dont worry you will be fine. And if you are scared ask them to just do it and not to warn you.

Assuming you have a good nurse that knows what their doing, and it's relatively easy to find your veins you shouldn't experience more than a little pinching feeling at first.

Oh, also if you drink lots of water and are well hydrated it goes a lot faster and easier.

Believe me, that doesn't hurts at all, mainly if the purpose is for donation, which is one of the most pretty action that can be taken.
