I get hormonal migraines and have tried all kinds of medications for them. Nothing seems to work on a consistant basis. My big problem is the rebound headache from the meds. I usually end up in a dark room for several days waiting it out in agony. Have you tried acupuncture or are you a practioner and know that it may work?

I recently began communicting with an ex lover. We are both married now. We have families and live far apart. Is it ever safe to explore those old feelings or does someone always get hurt.

For the past two years, I have been worried about my mothers health. Two years ago she lost her mother to heart disease. Ever since, my mother has not been taking good care of herself. Eats more unhealthy foods, never exercises, does not sleep very much (about4-5 hours a night), been really moody, drinks a lot of coffee and has been having leg pains for over a year now. She complains that her legs hurt and her feet get swollen almost every day. The swelling seems to never go away and she walks with a limp. I try to go and see her everyday to make sure she eats healthy foods, to take her for a walk and let her rest. But, seeing her everyday is something I unable to do with my job, 3 children and a house of my own to maintain. I have also tried so many times to take her to see a doctor and have her checked. Every time she refuses and becomes angry with me.

What would cause the swelling and pain? What else can I do to help her?

I am getting serious about working out this next semester. Besides my normal classes, I'm taking kickboxing(1 day), tennis(1day), Yoga(1day) and a Fitness Lab class (cardio & weights) twice a week before work. I feel like I have tried EVERYTHING so i'm a little skeptical about losing weight with this schedule. I kno I have to eat right and drink lots of water and I'm wondering if this is too much or too little? How much weight is it healthy to lose by December?

I mean, if I start wearing my retainer again, will my teeth move back to how they were after my braces came off? They haven't moved A LOT, just a little bit.
I don't want to get braces again or anything, obviously.
The area that I'm concerned about is my two front teeth. They used to be right next to each other, with no space between them. Now, there is a very, very small gap.
Is there anything that I can do to move my teeth back?
Thanks.

3500 Calories = 1 Pound (of fat?)
I am assuming that the formula means 1 pound of fat and not muscle. Do the amount of Calories you eat have anything to do with how much muscle mass you will gain? Will you gain more muscle by eating more calories? How many extra calories do you need for your body to build muscle and recover?

To clarify, please comment on the below example.

Your BMR is 1800 Cal
Activity burns 100 Cal
The TEF is 200 Cal
For a total of 2100 Cal needed a day

The activity only burns 100 Cal, but wouldn't your body need additional Calories for recovering and building muscle (if so, how many)? Secondly, would you gain just as much muscle by eating 2100 Cal as eating 2400 Cal (not fat or weight but muscle mass). What about if you eat 1900 Cal a day, it will call on your fat supply but will it detract from how much muscle you gain by not giving you the full benefit of the food you are eating?

A guy I'm seriously dating isn't that close to his mother. He only talks to her when she asks him questions about his life and even then he only gives minimal answers. He sees her on a pretty regular basis, but holds a grudge against her b/c she spends beyond her means on personal items and has to borrow money from him. But, it's worth noting that my bf growing up had to witness his father repeatedly blame his mother for the families financial problems. My bf's father isn't very affectionate or supportive of his mother and it seems like the father's view has subconsciously affected my bf's views. My bf is supportive and postiive when it comes to our relationship. Does anyone have any insight into dealing with mommy issues?

How many calories are in a cup of coffee? I looked on the package, and there wasn't even a nutrition label. I've had all of the calories I'm willing to have for today, and I don't want to have any more. I was just wondering for future reference, is coffee unhealthy for you? Will it make you gain weight, or something?
Thanks.

Probably a silly question, but I was wondering if it could make your cycle different, ie: shorter, lighter, etc.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer three years ago today at the age of 31....it was a nast diagnosis with 7 positive lymph nodes which led to mastectomy, chemo, rads and 2 years of Herceptin in a trial . So far I am ok,although as I only finished Herceptin in June I do still feel a little creaky and tired.....the weight gain from the hormonals has been awful and I hate feeling so fat but I suppose its better to be alive than a skinny dead!

Anyway just wanted to know how to cope with the fear cancer brings, I have an eight year old I want to raise to adulthood and I lay awake at night just crying and crying.....doesi t ever get better? and how many women really survive this and live to a ripe old age?
Any suggestions on diet and supplements too would be great....I do log on to various cancer websites and they help but sometimes I feel I should have "moved on" by now!

I'm a "seemingly" healthy 22 yr old male, just wondering what causes urine color to darken. It's been about two days now that it's been a dark yellow.
