Maybe all the veggie haters who seem responsible for the majority of posts on here are feeling left out and they'd leave us alone if there was a category for those who liked eating dead animals.

I'm a lacto ovo vegetarian, and I got a little bored of eating the same food. Does anyone have any vegetarian recipes that are easy to make with easy to find ingredients? I've seen many recipes that sound great and very yummy, but the ingredients are a little strange and quite hard to find

I have been a carvivore all my life, but I'm tired of being fat. I have learned that animal protein is bad for people and that we actually need very little protein in out diets to be healthy, unless maybe we are body builders. I like aparagus, lettuces, beans, carrots and a few other veggies. Is there a website for people like me?

Yes, it's called bovinovegetarianism.

Haha, I just wanted to pre-empt the trolls who don't understand what vegetarianism means.

As an established dietitian, I am here to tell you that a vegan diet is not truly healthy. I have seen many cases of individuals who have suffered permanent neurological damage from following a vegan for too long.

Humans are natural meat eaters. Our dietary requirements are that of an omnivore. Meat provides zinc, iron, protein and B vitamins.

Even if you still wish to be a vegan, you will still need to include some red meat in your diet. I would recommend that you include red meat at least 3 times a week.

I am going to be trying a new diet soon, where I eat fruits one day, vegetables the next, etc. The foods I can consume varies day-by-day. However, there is a little problem...I do not care for vegetables. I like corn, but I can't eat it with this diet. So I need to eat tomatoes, steamed veggies, etc. I do eat salad tho.

So what are some tips on how I can eat these vegetables without feeling like I wanna vomitting, feeling sick, even just avoiding them all together?

NOTE: Some of you might be saying to yourself or ask, "If you hate vegetables, why are you doing this diet?" Well the answer is simple... it's because I need too!

Thanks for your answers!

I don't eat meat and eggs because I don't like them. Are there any medical/scientific reasons for being vegetarian. I need to know them so that I can convince people who keep insisting that I am depriving myself of many essential nutrients by not taking eggs/meat. Surely there must be some cogent reasons why millions of people are strict vegetarians. I am particularly interested in knoing harmful effects of eating eggs. But details of bad effects of meat eating are also welcome.
Perhaps someone can also suggest a good diet for a friend who has low haemoglobin.

Did you know most high end cheeses are made with Rennet? Rennet is the enzymes from baby cow stomachs. Often, manufacturers just grind up the stomachs and mix it with the cheese to make it. I just recently found this out! I had no idea!

Anyway, I've found some organic rennet-free cheeses in my local Safeway grocery store. I live in Maryland.

Does anyone know if any groceries that sell rennet-free cheese? Does Whole Foods sell Rennet-free cheese? Not the soy or rice cheese. I don't like those! Thanks.

I am considering a vegan/veggie/restricted diet and I would love some advice that could help with the following:

1.Taste for meat
2.Uber taste for milk/dairy products
3.Very active lifestyle
4.availability (my school has a whole 2 vegetarian items: bean burrito/ side salad)

My focus is on non-consumption and I am undecided (leaning towards tolerating) free-range meat/dairy.

Comments, Additional Info, Flames, Non-Sequitors are all welcomed. I'm quite green to the whole idea and anything at all is greatly appreciated.

I need some recipe ideas. My boyfriend is a vegetarian and I'm not. I have no problem with his way of life, I admire it actually. I know, though, there is no way I'll be turning vegetarian anytime soon. I enjoy my chicken and seafood to the max. We generally do lunch on our own or out if we're together so it's never a problem. He eats dairy and eggs, so putting breakfast together is pretty simple for us to share, too.

Dinner is the issue. No I have no problem have a vegetarian dinner, that's fine with me. I just need some ideas of what I can make. I get tired of pasta with alfredo or red sauce. I get tired of bea burritos, pizza... other college friendly meals, I suppose.

I love to cook and I love to go all out for my sweety. I'm willing to work with tofu--I like it, I've just never cooked it. Some recipe ideas would be great. Tofu, veggies, pasta... different ethnic foods, anything. Main course meals, desserts--help please!
