I am going to be trying a new diet soon, where I eat fruits one day, vegetables the next, etc. The foods I can consume varies day-by-day. However, there is a little problem...I do not care for vegetables. I like corn, but I can't eat it with this diet. So I need to eat tomatoes, steamed veggies, etc. I do eat salad tho.

So what are some tips on how I can eat these vegetables without feeling like I wanna vomitting, feeling sick, even just avoiding them all together?

NOTE: Some of you might be saying to yourself or ask, "If you hate vegetables, why are you doing this diet?" Well the answer is simple... it's because I need too!

Thanks for your answers!

The key to liking vegetables is to add extra flavors to it. I know some people say we need to learn to enjoy the natural flavors of the vegetable but it's hard unless you have grown up that way. Try saute'ing mixed vegetables with olive oil, garlic, cayenne or go chinese style with soy sauce and vinegar. Indian cuisine uses lots of vegetables cooked with curry flavors. The curry would definetely make you like the taste of vegetables. Only thing to remember is to go easy on the oil/butter part of the recipe. It will still taste good. Soup is also a very good way to increase your vegetable intake. Throw in any veggie you have on hand into soup. Hope that helps...

I've known more than a couple of people who didn't like vegetables (but, interestingly, they almost always like corn), and the problem is usually that they've pretty much only had poor-quality vegetables, poorly prepared. It seems akin to me to only having had processed cheese, and deciding all cheese is bad. Tragic, really!

Anyway. Perhaps start with something like a caprese salad?

Go to a good greengrocer's, and get the _best_ plum tomatoes, the freshest basil, and find some excellent mozzarella; season it well. It's simple, and does great things to a tomato.

If you're sketchy on what makes for great produce -- ask around for store recommendations; places that specialise in produce are almost always better than supermarkets -- and if still drawing a blank while there, a produce clerk should be happy to help you select stuff.

You might also, if your budget permits, go to a restaurant or two with a flawless reputation and try their veg dishes.

Salad isn't always a pile of iceberg lettuce with a limp cucumber slice and bit of shredded purple cabbage. (Yuk.) Try marinated or pickled veg. Try pasta salad that's really heavy on the veg rather than the pasta.

As for steamed, I think you want to experiment with sauces (hollandaise?), herbs and spices, and simple stuff like garlic butter. Very few people enjoy plain steamed veg.

Finally: dips. Like hummus?

Why not add some flavour to your veggies? But make sure it's a healthy choice. Also, you can eat other stuff with the veggies. I also hate vegetables, but adding some salad cream and eating them with something else is great! Remember that even though you don't like them, you should still eat them, diet or no diet, it's healthy and helps prevent illnesses and your body needs them to function!

I have found that if you season the veggies with imitation bacon bits or Mrs Dashes seasoning it helps, even old bay or some other seasonings you might like will help, but being on a diet you have to watch the calories with these also.you may also try blanching fresh veggies instead of the canned,it makes them a lot more crispy not mushy, and it doesn't boil out all the nutrients that you really need when you are dieting. good luck.

A lot of people won't eat cooked veggies, but they will eat them raw. When veggies are cooked they do tend to have a stronger flavor. But is usually better though, because most people tend overcook their veggies, which will result in a loss of a lot of the nutrients.
Since you eat salads, it sounds like you're one of those people that can eat their veggies raw.
Find yourself a good dressing a munch away.
Enjoy!

A lot of vegetables just aren't good plain. Try mixing up the flavor a bit. Use seasoning. Green beans fried with olive oil and pepper is amazing. Broccoli is good steamed or with balsamic vinaigrette.

Good for you for trying. I used to not like veggies too much until I realized that I just didn't like how most people cook them. I started steaming them to the point that they were barely cooked and suddenly found them delicious. Now I crave things like green beans and asparagus. A lot of people mix them into things like spinach in pasta sauce, etc. You could start there. Good luck!

Have you attempted STEAMING The Fresh Veggies? That is one approach to make it simpler at the palate for individuals who do not always just like the Raw Fresh Veggie texture or style -- and you'll do that to Broccoli, Cauliflower, Carrots, and so forth. You may not want butter in any respect -- slightly little bit of seasoning at the greens -- and it is going to be well to move.

Well if you know you need to, sounds like you may have a few health problems. So whats important? Just start with the vegis you do like and slowly add other vegies. Vegies can taste different depending how they are prepared. Try broiling, sauted, steamed and raw.

Good luck to you

Cut up fresh veggies and add them to your salad. Or better yet, try a different diet!
