This answer was posted to a previously asked version of this question. Can anyone elaborate on why pigs milk is not used to make cheese or to feed the hungry??? I'm interested in the scientific details, not the social norms.
"While pig milk is very rich, there's one major difference between its milk and cows, goats, sheep, etc.) A pig is a nonruminant; those animals are ruminants. The short-chain fatty acids produced by ruminants are not present in pigs; they produce long-chain fatty acids.
To make a long story short, milk produced by animals with long-chain fatty acids is primarily a function of the diet of the animal, like human milk."
