I need a portable hot holding unit for under $200. I have been looking at Cambro and Alto-Shaam but can't find anything under $400! Anyone have any website suggestions for me to try besides e-bay? I'm desperate! I have an offsite catering to do in January and have no way to keep the food hot (no oven/stove onsite). . . help!

You go out and buy good looking strawberries, black plums, and green grapes and put them on a plate and another on with peaches and bananas. You sit them somewhere and stare at them as much as you can. Put them in the fridge at night and take them out the next day. You eat the fruit as it begins to get less fresh. I used to do this all of the time with my family but it is too expensive to do anymore. There is cheaper fruit but it is just not as attractive as the above mentioned ones as they are placed together in the plate. I wish I would have caught some of the stares in pictures.

What is the last name of the black chef, who I think his first name is Marvin? Always has a do-rag on his head while cooking. Thanks for the help.

It' s from the late 70's-early 80's. Milk chocolate whipped with air. Light and kind of crunchy. My brother and I were talking about our favorite sweets from childhood and couldn't remember what it was called.

She insists on setting meat out on the counter to thaw overnight. I have tried to explain her how bad this can be for us. It has gone on for quite awhile. I have refused to eat the food but it doesn't seem to register with her. Please you guys (and gals), help me out here. It is unhealthy, really dangerous, Tell her so she doesn't think I'm making this up.

Thae Walmart now pre-packeges their meats? Try to buy a roast recently. You have buy enough to feed the whole block. Only thing the have in reasonable packages is hamburger and chicken. (and then you have to hunt for it)

Will remove an item from the shelf (particularly meat items) if another store in the area has a raelly good price for that item?
I once asked a meat dept. worker why they had no T-bones "is it beacuse Keoger has 'em on sale for $ 5.99 per lb.?" He said "yep", they would put them out again after Kroger's sale ends. Trick way not to have to match the price don't you think?

I saw it used on one of the food network shows, in Indian cuisine (I think).
It looks like an upside-down funnel and fits over your skillet to steam the food and keep flavors recirculating.
My son would LOVE one!

I have an idea for a grocery price website. Kind of like the cheapest gas in the area site. If you find a low price on a grocery store item you would go to the site and update with the price, store, location, date, if it's on sale, and how long. Then everyone can compare prices and see what's cheapest and where. What do you think? Do they have a site like that?
