I saw it used on one of the food network shows, in Indian cuisine (I think).
It looks like an upside-down funnel and fits over your skillet to steam the food and keep flavors recirculating.
My son would LOVE one!

Its called a tagine (or tajine). Le Crueset makes a nice one.

Firstly you have to call it by a name folks will recognize, like thing-a-ma-jig, or wah-cha-ma-call-it.

The traditional tagine (tajine) pot is formed entirely of a heavy clay which is sometimes painted or glazed. It consists of two parts; a bottom which is flat and circular with low sides, and a large cone or dome shaped cover that rests inside of the bottom during cooking. The cover is so designed to promote the return of all condensate to the bottom. With the cover removed, the bottom is open and shallow for easy serving at the table.

Named for the moroccan dishes is was designed to aid in preparing. Purchase one anywhere Le Creuset is sold. (in some areas you may have to special order)
