Yes...it can actually happen with any kind of soda fountain flavor. Sometimes it just tastes really flat and you know there is a problem. You should always let the "seller" know so they can correct the problem with their tanks.

Yes. What happens is that the syrup runs out and the box needs to be changed out with a full box of syrup. But unlike colored sodas, you don't know when the sprite runs out because it is the same color as the carbonated water. Usually the employees are too busy to notice the empty box and don't know it's empty until a customer tells them.

I've never bought it by mistake in the market but Hate it when they do it to me in restaurants, either they serve you the wrong thing or sometimes the sprite syrup is out. I hate it cause I'm so thirsty and Want it bad, only to find out is just that flavorless soda h2o
