Girls (and girly guys) just LOVE drinks with cutesy sounding names. And they love SAYING things like "sex on the beach" in public.

So that when people asked the bartender or their waitperson for it, it sounded like they were asking for sex on the beach, not an alcoholic beverage. Alcoholics are not incredibly subtle. Same goes for leg spreaders, blow jobes, and other silly names.
