When you buy a "bunch" of bananas there is something like five bananas in the inside row and four bananas in

the outside row.

My question is which goes bad or ripens first?

The bananas in the inside row? Or the bananas in the outside row?

How do you keep lettuce from wilting so quickly?

I need to buy a head of lettuce tonight for a salad Friday. Every time I bring one home the next day or so it is wilted. How do grocery stores keep them fresh?

I'm not sure if some chicken left in the freezer was defrosted or not. Should i eat it?

My fridge/freezer broke down for about a day and inexplicably started working again. During this time, some frozen chicken may or may not have defrosted - it was certainly quite cold when the fridge was knackered. Should I leave it to defrost again and risk dying of food poisoning or stop being a wuss?

Does anyone else get the hiccups from Jalapeno peppers?

Nandos chicken, chilli sauce and pickled jalapenos - love em all, but think I may be intolerant! I get the hiccups without fail and if it is particularly spicy I get a bit shaky... I do love chillis though!

Best before - safe to eat on expiration date?

I frequent this bakery in this department store and they sell this product which I would like to purchase but everytime I do come around, the 'best before' date would always be 'that day'. Does that mean that it's expired already, or that it should be consumed before the day's actually over?

Why are certian flavours of crisps always packaged in certain colour bags?

Like, why are salt and vinegar flavour always packaged in blue bags, and cheese and onion in green bags - except for Walkers where they're the other way around???
