Oh boy, you've come to the right place. I'll ignore the supermarket bit to begin with because if you can get some Epoisse de Bourgognes then just do. It is the greatest smelly cheese I've ever eaten - stopped me in my tracks. Similar to that is Munster which many a deli counter might have. Otherwise, it's likely you'll be restricted to the traditional Camemberts, Roqueforts and Gorgonzolas. Camembert Rustique is the one in the box with the red/white checked wrapping and pretty reliable. There's also a really creamy Dolcelatte/Gogonzola which is wicked. Finally, may I suggest Blacksticks Blue which is a blue-veined cheese with an orange hue from North West England. I think ASDA stock it.

And, whatever you do, DO NOT eat any of these straight from the fridge. Leave them out for at least an hour at room temperature first.

Dont know if they still sell it, cant say it was very popular! That or any mature Stilton, theyre always pongy! :O) Im curious tho as to why you want a really smelly cheese??xx

A very ripe Brie or Camembert.....some of the bigger supermarkets might stock Stinking Bishop - boy, you certainly know you've got a stinky cheese when you've got some of that.....failing that, put out ordinary cheese....and nail some dirty socks under the table!!!
