Because colours can produce taste perception. We have learnt to associate certain colours with certain foods. Sugar for example is usually associated with white and blue. Salty foods are associated with red (i don't know why, but they are!). This doesn't apply for everything, and I think most of it is down to conventionalism. Things are changing now days with the introduction of better product branding. Does that mean mints will be coloured purple? It just doesn't work does it?!

Based on ice cream consumption figures, the top five individual flavors in terms of share of segment in the United States are: vanilla (26%), chocolate (12.9%) neapolitan (4.8%) strawberry (4.3%) cookies n' cream (4.0%) and I love chocolate icecream from the limited choices given. If there were other choices I would have selected some other flavour. However, in most regular restaurants the choice you are given are very limited and it would be the 3 flavours you have given so I think you did good. There are too many flavours and variations (like personalities) so the 3 basic classic ones are a good idea. However, the chocolate personality did not match mine. I am not reserved, very chatty, open, friendly, outgoing, yes, love art, not sure about Indie Rock.

I dunno but in South Africa salt and vinegar is always blue and cheese and onion is always green. I kept grabbing th ewrong ones when I first arrived here. It took me a while to get it right. Now you say that Walkers are doing them backwards....aish! Guess I'll be switching to plain - err...it's red isn't it? And come to think of it...what happened to tomato sauce flavoured chips? I can't remember when last I saw any for sale!

Dunno, but Walkers totally messed me up when they changed,I bought 24 bags of salt and vinegar and I hate them.
They used to do them the same way as everyone else.
