Nandos chicken, chilli sauce and pickled jalapenos - love em all, but think I may be intolerant! I get the hiccups without fail and if it is particularly spicy I get a bit shaky... I do love chillis though!

Nope...but I do have the best hiccup cure ever - all you need to do (and you'll need help with this) is hold your ears closed and have someone feed you a glass of water. Drink as much as you possibly can without taking a breath - no more hiccups! It really works!

I get hiccups from Jalapenos too. I love them so it makes me crazy. Just today I made a health juice shot with cider vinegar, lemon, ginger and I decided to make it a little spicy and added 1/2 fresh jalepeno to my juicer - no seeds, no pulp - and still I get the hiccups. I thought your post was interesting but it seems we are the only ones that get it from Jalepenos.

These signs of an allergy perhaps mean you should avoid Jalapeno peppers?
Hiccups is one thing you can cure by sipping water, bent over, from the "other" side of the glass.
But feeling shaky suggests you should avoid altogether.
