they actually grow on a vine like thing like grapes. but not in the ground,must not have been cleaned off good enough, or it may just be how it tasted to you. It has a sorta bitter after taste.

Kiwi fruit does grow on trees. Saw this first hand when I was on holiday in New Zealand and touring a Kiwi farm.

They grow on trees & they are very nice & sweet & yummy
you must have had a rotten one
they should only be a little soft not real soft that means they are bad
some people even eat the skin
I have but i prefer to peel them
I often have them here in Australia & they never taste like dirt

Kiwis do NOT grow on trees. Kiwi grow on vines and to have the plant produce fruit you have to have a male and female plant and they pollinate and then you have kiwi. Usually takes a few years.
