I made hummus yesterday for the fisrt time and it just doesn't have very interesting flavor. It's also a bit thick. Can I enhance its flavor? I made the very basic recipe: chick peas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic and olive oil. And this was also my first time to eat hummus as well, so I don't know if it's supposed to taste that way.

I've tasted both and have developed an equal liking for each one. Is there a way I could prepare them with the available ingredients in Manila?

Mountain Oysters are animal testicles, usually from bulls, and they are considered to be an aphrodisiac.
Thanks.

What are some good items to have on hand for stir frying? Such as spices and sauces, oils, etc. I plan to do a lot of oriental recipes, FYI.

Thanks in advance!

My partner and I are headed for a romantic trip to Venice and Florence this April. As well as art and culture, we're intrepid gastronauts - so what are the local specialities we should be on the lookout for in Venice and Florence?

(Two we know already: Bellinis and carpaccio in Harry's Bar. Any more?)

Cheers

Don't knock it till you've tried it? I'm a bit scared to try it, for someone who doesn't eat that much fish, let alone raw fish.

Any particular dishes which are really good?

I bought Shirikiku brand buckwheat noodles with concentrated soup base. Most of the directions are in Japanese or pictures.

Im curious abou the soup base. It is to be mixed with water-if you mix it with a 1/3 cup of water its called Zaru Soba Tsuyu and if you mix with almost a cup of water and a little soy sauce for flavor, its called Kake Soba Tsuyu.

I know Soba is the noodle...what is Tsuyu and what is the difference between Zaru and Kake?

I finally want to learn how to cook. Food prep is a no brainer, it's the cooking part that's hard especially because things don't taste like the asian home-cooking that i'm used to. Any words of wisdom?
