help me correct these statements.

-Frijoles refritos are beans that are boiled, mashed and then friend in olive oil


-A tortilla is a fried taco filled with refriend beans or meat sauce, tomato sauce, and cheese.

-An avocado is ripe when it is hard to the touch.

-both avocados and tomatoes must be purchased ripe as they will not ripen at home at room temperature

-Authentic Tex-Mex chili con carne is traditionally made from ground beef, chilies, tomatoes, and red beans

-Enchiladas could be called a fruit dip because it is made from avocados, chilies, and cantaloupe.

I brown bag my lunch everyday & starting this week began cutting my turkey sandwich diagonally instead of horizontally (which I have for years). Something seems different with the sandwich cut diagonally. I can't quite pinpoint it but feel I'm getting less of a sandwich cutting it diagonally. I'm beginning to think the angle in which the knife is inserted to cut the sandwich somehow absorbs or erodes its contents. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there anywhere I can find out if this is a fact?
