nope, it's not necessary at all.
condiments that DO NOT need refrigeration are those that are primarily made up of:
SUGAR (jams, jellies, honey, maple syrup, corn syrup, molasses etc)
or SALT: soysauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce etc.
or ACID: vinegars, mustard, hot sauce, steak sauce, worcestershire sauce, ketchup
or ALCOHOL, except Wine: madeira, marsala, port, sherry, liquers, etc
all OILs( but those that are nut or seed based can more easily go rancid in warm weather, so best to keep refridgerated)
condiments/sauces that MUST BE refrigated are those that are NOT primarily made up of the above ingredients AND that contain either:
VEGETABLES ( i.e. vinaigrettes with garlic or shallots or onion or fresh herbs)
or FRUIT (ponzu sauce, salad dressings with citrus juice or other fruit, bottled citrus juices etc...)
or DAIRY (i.e.mayonnaise or creamy salad dressings, tzatziki sauce etc...)
NUT OILS (refridgeration staves off rancidity)
i'm sure i've left out some things, but i hope this can be a helpful basic guide.

Soy sauce generally does not need refrigeration, as it is a fermented sauce. It generally lasts a pretty long time too, but depending on how old it is you might be better off with some new soy sauce.

I never have, then last week a friend said to me wow that should be in the fridge. Ive been not refrigerating it for a good 10 plus yeas (not the same bottle just how long i have been buying it) and have never been sick, go figure? If the bottle say to refrigerate it, do it, I do now.

No. Soy sauce is made from fermented black soy beans. As long as you don't contaminate it with water, or oil, you won't have to put it in the fridge.

Never have and I really don't know anyone who does. This is the first I've heard of that idea.
Is there a new health advisory on this?

I never have done but it usually gets used up within a couple of days anyway.
Can't see why it would hurt to refridgerate it.
