Put it on pizza. It has the kinda "licorice" taste. It goes with beef and pork and salad and wherever you like it.

Try this.
1/4 cup olive oil
1 cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon of minced garlic
1-2 pounds of fennel (ground is perfect for this sauce)
1/2 cup of veggie broth or water
1tsp of dried oregano or marjoram
1 tablespoon of vinegar balsamic
1-put oil in panand cook onion just untill soft.
2-add garlic and fennel and cook on med about 5 min
3-add liquid, salt, pepper to taste
4-cover pan put on med low heat and cook until fennel is just about tender
5-uncover pan. if mixture is too wet, drain or let evaporate by cooking uncovered
6-stir in herb, veneger and adjust seasoning to taste. serve by itself or with pasta
