Can anyone give me a suggestion on what to serve with Swedish Meatballs and Pasta? Wine? Side dish?

Red wine goes very very well with pasta, so I'd definately prefer that. How about an Italian Bread Salad. It's yummy.

INGREDIENTS
1 (14 ounce) package pre-baked Italian bread shell crust, cubed
1 1/2 cups diced fresh tomatoes
1/2 cup thinly sliced fresh basil
1/2 cup Italian salad dressing, divided
7 cups ready-to-serve salad greens
1 small green pepper, julienned
1 cup sliced pepperoni sausage
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup sliced ripe olives
DIRECTIONS
In a large salad bowl, combine bread cubes, tomatoes, basil and 1/4 cup salad dressing; let stand for 5 minutes. Add the salad greens, green pepper, pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese and olives. Drizzle with remaining salad dressing; toss to coat. Serve with a slotted spoon.

Or you can try an Antipasto Salad

INGREDIENTS
6 cups torn lettuce leaves
8 ounces hard salami, julienned
6 ounces provolone cheese, julienned
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 medium tomatoes, chopped
1 (6 ounce) can pitted ripe olives , drained, halved
1 tablespoon minced chives
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup red wine vinegar or cider vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
DIRECTIONS
Place the lettuce on a large serving platter. Arrange the salami, cheeses, tomatoes and olives over top. Sprinkle with chives. In a blender, combine the remaining ingredients; cover and process until smooth. Drizzle over salad.

I would make some Asparagus Wrapped in Proscietto. It's so good, and goes well with any Italian dish.

INGREDIENTS
1 tablespoon olive oil
16 spears fresh asparagus, trimmed
16 slices prosciutto
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (220 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, and coat with olive oil.
Wrap one slice of prosciutto around each asparagus spear, starting at the bottom, and spiraling up to the tip. Place the wrapped spears on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 5 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove, and shake the pan back and forth to roll the spears over. Return to the oven for another 5 minutes, or until asparagus is tender, and prosciutto is crisp. Serve immediately.

I would also make some garlic bread for the pasta. This one is my favorite

INGREDIENTS
3 bulbs garlic
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 (1 pound) loaf Italian bread
1/2 cup butter
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Slice the tops off of the garlic bulbs so that the tip of each clove is exposed. Place the bulbs on a baking sheet, and drizzle with olive oil. Bake for 30 minutes, or until garlic is soft.
Set the oven to broil. Slice the loaf of bread in half horizontally, and place cut side up on a baking sheet.
Squeeze the cloves of garlic from their skins into a medium bowl. Stir in the butter, parsley, and Parmesan cheese until well blended. Spread onto the cut sides of the bread.
Broil for about 5 minutes, until toasted.

Enjoy.!!
