today is Chinese new year. It is the year of the pig, so is it good or bad luck to eat pork today?

Good luck!

The pig is the only animal who can not look backward; therefore it is considered good luck to start the new year with the intent of only moving forward without regret for anything from the past.

Cheers & Happy New Year!

PS - This is the year of the Golden Pig (not just the pig), which only happens once every 60 years so it is an especially good year.

I got my pork roast and I'm definitely going to enjoy the crackling. Nothing can separate me and my crunchy pork crackling.

Year of the pig just means that pig is the Chinese sign for the year. I don't remember that my family and my Chinese friends' families ever skipped a single year celebrating Chinese New Year with roast pork.

Yup, bad luck for the pig. Chinese always celebrate with food. We eat chicken, duck, and pork during ancestor day, moon day, and chinese new year. I love that little piglet with crispy skin...ummm...yumm... We always have the piglet during Chinese New Year. Too bad for me, I'm not there (Thailand) to celebrate the New Year with my family. (My parents are chinese living in Thailand).
