I have some corn husks and want to try making home-made tamales. Real ones, though. I know they are supposed to be pretty hard to make from scratch (or at least time consuming), and I'm not worried about that. The taste is worth it, lol.

now he's good friends with this other really talkative girl, overheard him saying something like ".......that's the farthest she's gone in talking to me.........how do girls show they like you?........" and etc. about me. he thinks i'm shy but i am definitely not, he always starts conversations with me and i talk comfortably but they don't last that long. i just act that way around boys i like! i feel verrrrrrrry guilty and very slightly jealous of his relationship with the other girl (it's strictly a friendly relationship, he doesn't like her as much i'm not worried about that) and i want to be better friends with him. what should i say to him? we are both in varsity track & field after school......

Do they taste good? I'm not from New York, so I've never had one. (Saw it on a carnival midway, food vendor's sign, on a food network program.)

I want to have a Mexican-Themed party for my birthday. I wanted to serve margaritas, chips, dips, and taco salads. I wanted to make mini salad bowls like the ones in restaurants (with the fried tortilla). I dont want to buy the tortilla fruer since this is the only time I'll be using it and I'm on a tight budget. Any suggestions on how to do it without a deep fryer or the tortilla fyer itself? I was thinking about using the small taco-sized flour tortillas. Thanks in advance. I was planning on calling my party "Diez de Mayo" since my d-day is on May 10th.. Cool, huh?

Beans w/ white rice. I can make the beans but it always is red ya know the basic beans w/ potatoes. I was at a party, and the host made beans w/ white rice and it was awesome, but I don't like asking the cook. It was more a brown color. What is a different reciepe? I normally use sofrito, sazon, tomatoe paste, pink beans, potatoes etc. I know there is a million ways to make beans.

Pronounced: show pow. Don't know if i spelled it right in the question... anyway i'm wondering if it's not strictly filipino, what other nationalities make this as their own? it's not really "cuisine" more like a tiny lunch or big snack.
