This is how I make mine... I dice up an onion and sautee it in oil along with the rice until the rice is toasted. I then add the water, one of those chicken and tomato boullion cubes goya makes, a few dashes of cumin, and salt and pepper. How do you make yours? While my way is very easy and good.... I think its missing something.

I'm trying to plan a wedding for my little sister, and we're running into some budgeting issues. I'm wondering if anyone has any creative recipes that we can prepare for the reception instead of hiring an expensive caterer. We're fairly good cooks--just not experienced with making "party" types of foods.

This is a German Dessert. I am making a cookbook for my 6th grade class One of my students says this is his favorite dessert. His mother won't give him the recipe to bring in. ( He says he keeps forgetting) I don't know, but I do know he is awfully heartbroken to not get to submit this recipe for the class cook book! HELP!!!!!

I have a butternut squash tart recipe, but would like to add some chicken to it. I'm not very culinary aware so any advice would be helpful. The summerised recipe is as follows, but not sure whether chicken is even appropriate?

Caramelised onion and Butternut Squash Tart

4 teaspns olive oil
3 yellow onions, thinly sliced
salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup white wine
1 teaspn chopped fresh rosemay or thyme
1/2 medium butternut squash, peeled, seeded and cut into 1/2 inch dice
Wholewheat pie crust

Add onions to oil and sprinkle with 1/2 teaspn salt. When onions are done add 2 tablespns wine. Cook until most of the moisture has gone. Season to taste.
Steam the squash over boiling water until tender.
Prehead oven to 375F.
Spoon onions into center of crust and sprinkle squash evenly over onions. Fold edge of crust over filling. Bake 25 minutes.

Last year I made them homemade peanut butter balls, and the year before that I made them homemade cherry cheese cake.

Got any ideas? They are a couple in their 60's, sweet as can be. They moved in just two years ago. I want to make them homemade stuff, just don't know what. I want something that is Christmasy.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

the traditional way....with hot dogs and cheese wrapped in cresent rolls and baked. I was wondering if I could wrap them in bacon and then the cresent roll and them bake them? If so, would the bacon have to be partially cooked first or would it completly cook in the oven while wrapped in the cresent roll?
