the traditional way....with hot dogs and cheese wrapped in cresent rolls and baked. I was wondering if I could wrap them in bacon and then the cresent roll and them bake them? If so, would the bacon have to be partially cooked first or would it completly cook in the oven while wrapped in the cresent roll?

It turned out great! I cooked bacon just almost all the way.. not crispy...that way I could wrap around hot dog. It finished cooking and got crispy in oven.. Even my kids liked them lol thanks for all your help everyone!!

Cook the bacon first......also, make a slit in the hot dog to add cheese before you wrap it with bacon and bake. YUMMY!

I would partially cook the bacon first to make sure it cooks all the way through as you don't want raw bacon inside your pig-in-a-blanket. After the bacon partially cooks drain it to get the excess fat off of it then wrap it around the hot dog and then wrap around the cheese around the bacon and hot dog then wrap the whole thing with the cresent roll.
It sounds yummy. Hope it turns out good for you.

I think it would be kind of greasy if you put raw bacon in there. I'd say partially cooked would be better. I haven't had pigs in a blanket in years- now I crave em

OH that sounds so good. I would at least partically cook the bacon though. Make sure it is still soft or you won't be able to wrap it. Thank you for the neat idea. I will have to try that myself. My husband and daughter love those and my husband loves bacon.

You could do all of the above, yes. BUt when I was growing up, pigs in a blanket, meant sausage links rolled up into pancakes, which then had tooth picks stuck in them. You could sprinkle them with powdered sugar, and eat them. Or you could just roll the links up into pancakes and eat them on the plate with syrup.
That's what was then.

The bacon needs to be cooked like 99% of the way. It will not continue cooking if wrapped inside crescent roll dough. Puff pastry dough works well and may be a bit less greasy.

Ooooh... that's iffy. I would put the bacon in the microwave to cook it first (without it getting crispy) and then roll it. Can't be sure the internal temp would get high enough to make the bacon safe.
Otherwise just follow the directions for the crescents.

I would say partially cook the bacon, or better yet buy microwave ready bacon so it still can wrap around the bacon.

I would fry that bacon first. It will more than likely make the crescent roll soggy if you don't.
