I've just started my appentaship as a cook and want to become a chef with my own place to serve out the best food that money can buy. My chef has given me a day of cutting onions as to finding how to use a knife in the propper way. I have no problem with this, it's a good idea I think, but how do you get the smell of onions out of the palm of my hands.......thanks.

Some beverages are allowed at the funeral, or visitation.
others are consumed at the gathering afterward.

Tell me what you want people to drink at each event.

What will they be drinkin at your funeral?

I am making green bean casserole, stuffing, rolls, and chicken breasts for dinner. How should I prepare the chicken breasts? Something simple, not fried though. I was thinking baked somehow with some sort of sauce or gravy over it? Help please!

My friend, who is a vegan, made a terrible mistake. She bought a goldfish at the pet store for a Christmas gift for her brother. I told her it was immoral for vegans to go to a pet store and even more immoral for a vegan to buy a pet. She said itis only a .25 goldfish. I think she is so wrong. To make matters worse she is a leading member of our animal rights group. How should I make her see that she is wrong?

How do I get moist Oatmeal cookies?? I have tried many recipes and they all seem to "dry" up a bit, and get crunchy.

I cooked a brisket on Sunday and I have too much left over and I want to use the meat to make some enchilada's, but I want an excellent sauce recipe, my hubby has GERD, so it has to be kinda mild tasting and I don't like any enchilada sauce with tomato sauce in it. Anyone up for this challenge to help me make some awesome brisket enchiladas?

fruit/vegetable/nut/legume/grain/etc

The vegetables I learnt to hate as a kid I later as an adult found out that actually they taste great. They only don't taste great when someone, such as my parents, cook the crap out of them. Such as the canned peas they would boil for 15 minutes, then pour any little flavour they had down the drain.

What I can think of right now:
1. Brussels sprouts, yes, disgusting swamp plant.
2. Anything really bitter.
3. Anything poisonous and/or not edible by humans.
4. I think grapefruit is gross.

Can anyone recommend a good vegan or dairy-free cookbook? Particularly for desserts? And one that doesn't call for a lot of weird, hard-to-find ingredients?

BTW I can do eggs but not dairy. Thanks!

Is there anything that I can put in it that will take out some of the burnt smell and taste. It doesn't taste bad, and I don't believe that it smells as bad as I think it does. HELLLLLPPP

I've grown up eating a vegetable a day at dinner... and thats about it. Sometimes growing up we'd have veggies at lunch time or a salad for lunch... but again, thats about it.

I don't know the first thing about preparing vegetables and making them taste good enough to eat... what are some good ways to get started eating more vegetables?

I have nothing against meat or animal products - I enjoy them to be honest, but this is about eating more healthy and trying to show my 1 year old son that veggies are good!
