I'm making some peanutbutter chocolate chip cookies and the recipe calls for parchment paper, to line the baking tray. It's the only thing I don't have in the kitchen and as I live in the middle of the Canadian wilderness it's quite a drive to get some. So then, how important is it to the baking process? Many thanks to any and all who answer even if you goof on my question, that can be funny if not entirely helpful to the matter at hand which is of course my attempt to make delicious peanutbutter and chocolate chip cookies to share with my lovely wife, the woodland creatures who frequent our homestead, lost hikers, displaced alien abductees, forest rangers and their companion hat wearing picknik basket stealing bears, wandering minstrels, Jehovah Witnesses (I always wonder how they stay so clean in their polyester suites back here in the bush, astounding!), drunk lumber Jacks, and door to door fuller brush sales persons . It is so important to have something to serve unexpected guests!

when I cook anything in the oven lately, theres a ton of smoke coming out, I cleaned the bottom where most of the oil drips down too but smoke still comes out!! Is this normal? Will my oven explode? I'm very worried espically when other peoples around it.

Made hamburgers last night in the oven.
Put them in a zip lock bag to put in the fridge for leftovers - except, I forgot to put the bag in the fridge.
They stayed out on the counter inside a locked zip lock for about 6-7 hours.
Are they still ok to eat for lunch later?

I have a 2year old who is very picky about what she eats so I have been trying to make something new everyday but I just looked at my reasources and the only thing I have is English muffins, Strwberries and cream oatmeal, maple link sauages and bagels.

After dinner, I covered the dish that was extremely hot and forgot to put it in the fridge before bed. I got up at 5am and realized I had left it out. It was about 8:30 when I covered it. I figure it took a good 2 hours just to cool down so it might be ok, but really would like some input.

I was in the line to buy some fruit from these little box-like places which sell fruit and vegetables, and two persons in front of me bought 2 and 3 kilos of onions respectively.

I am having 6 friends for dinner on Sunday evening. I am serving a substantial entree and main, but would love to have fruit / cheese / olive platters in lieu of sticky, creamy desserts. My husband feels I ought to serve more traditional sweet desserts. What do you think? I have 6 friends that are vegan or vegetarians but are not big fans of PETA. They get turned off by their outlandish protests, public spectacles, history of animal euthanasia, expensive galas, donated money that goes into criminals like rodney coronado, freezers that keep animals that are killed, or animals that are killed and thrown to dumpsters, celebrity endorsements payments, expensive galas and that much of the money is not spent helping animals but rather on expensive costumes, and that PETA wants domesticated animals to dissapear. Is there a level of hypocrisy with PETA that turns people off?

Ok i know there are far superior single malt whiskys out there but considering the range that I can afford im gonna have to settle down with blends. So which one should I get from these two. JW black or Chivas ? and please id like to know your personal opinion on the taste. a comparison would be nice
