Cheddar cheese is definitely more tangy than Mozzarella. Its sharpness depends upon how long it's been aged. The longer the aging period the sharper it is. Cheddar can come in two colors, white and Yellow. Its main use is in Macaroni and Cheese and cheese omelets but it is also good for snacking.
Mozzarella is usually used in Italian cooking in such dishes as Veal Parmesan and especially in Pizzas. It is a much blander cheese and is white/ Both cheeses are delicious

I know very little about cheese, but I do like to cook, so here's my answer. Mozzarella cheese (does anyone know how to spell that?) comes from buffalo milk. Cheddar cheese is made from cow's milk. Mozzarella cheese is what's used on pizza. It's saltier and stringier than cheddar. Cheddar is better used in casseroles, where it makes a lovely flavor and, when mixed with breadcrumbs, adds a nice bubbly topping.

They are just different types of cheeses...traditionally Mozzarella is used in Italian dishes such as Pizza. Cheddar is used in other ways, like for homemade Macaroni and cheese. Mozzarella has very subtle taste compared to Cheddar cheeses.

Cheddar is used for the taste. It's good in a grilled cheese sandwich or on crackers or with fruit or whatever you do with cheese.

Mozarella doesn't have as much taste but it melts better. It's good on pizzas, in lasagne, or anywhere you want the cheese to melt. Actually, some grated cheddar is good on a pizza too, sprinkled over the mozarella.

They both have about the same nutritional content.

mozzarella is often used in Italian style dishes, such as pizza and lasagna. it has a mild flavor and a stringy smoother type texture.

now there is cheddar. this is one of those types of cheese that is harder than mozzarella and processed longer than mozzarella. this could come in a variety of flavors from mild to sharp. the mild hasn't Been process as long and contains a mild favor. the sharp, extra sharp, seriously sharp(gotta love Cabot lol for that one, great stuff) has a stronger cheesy flavor. it is considered a table chees because by itself is wonderful however this great in some Mexican and American dishes.

Mozterella is white cheese and its melted on top of pizza. Cheddar cheese is yellow or orange in color and comes in mild, medium, sharp, and super sharp. The difference between those is how long it has been aged and the older the cheese the drier it is. Cheddar cheese is usually on tacos or cassoroles and sometimes hamburgers. God i love cheese!!!

Mozarella is white and is usually to top pizza and in lasagne. Once it becoomes hot, the cheese stretches. It has a light mild taste to it. Cheddar cheese is orange/yellowish. It is usually used in salads, macoroni and cheese. and as atopping on some foods. Its taste is strong and tangy like. It has a very distinct taste.

I'm not a chef or anything but on personal opinion, Motzarella melts faster and becomes stretchy when it does but doesn't have too much flavor. Cheddar on the other hand has distinct cheese taste and isn't as stretchy when it melts.

I try to eat white cheeses more. You know how butter is yellow, it's made up of milk solids (white) and fats (yellow). So the mozza, feta or bocco for me!....but I love Brie!!!
p.s Mozza for pizza and salads but not the yellow one, and cheddar for omelet or with pasta bake!
