I have never been able to make a great gravy. What are the best ingredients for a delicious gravy? The recipes I find online turn out bland. Please any ideas will be great for breakfast gravy and a dinner gravy.

At the moment I'm leaning towards getting a Kenwood Major model KM020. It was only released in Spring 07 and so reviews are hard to find. I'd be pleased to hear from anyone who has experience of Kenwood mixers (or 'kitchen machines') or who's in a position to compare those with Kitchenaids. Which is best and why - and how do Kenwoods perform? Thanks.

I found organic bananas at a good price. I bought three bunches. They are ripe. I don't want them to get overripe.
It's not like other fruits you can store in the fridge, as they get black.
I would not like to freeze them.
Would it be good to peel and put them in some lemon juice to preserve them and keep them fresh?

I just cleaned out our fridge at work because something someone left in there leaked all over the place, including in the bottom drawer I use. I tossed items that expired weeks ago, months ago and even last year, as well as leftovers that had stuff growing on them. We are trying to come up with some rules on fridge use like no plastic bags, everything will be tossed on Friday afternoons, name and date are required on all items.
What fridge rules do you have at work? Do they work? Who is responsible for enforcing them? What rules would you like to have regarding fridge use at your workplace?

I'm just not sure how these their flavors mix. It seems that they are both made from peppers. Cayenne having heat and Paprika being sweet.

When preparing to cook chicken, why do most people season the chicken first and then place it in the refrigerator for a few hours before cooking it?

When I awoke this morning I notifed my freezer was cracked open. When I opened it to look inside I noticed that my ice cream had melted all over. My frozen burgers were defrosted. I have tons of lean cuisine meals in there. Everything still felt cold, but soft. Do I need to throw all that food away? Or can I re freeze it? Thanks for your help.

I have an interesting challenge ahead of me, in December i am tasked with feeding 400 people, the problem is where we are serving has no heat source. This is a lunch, we have tried sandwiches, pizza, and cold meals in the past and they have not gone over well. It is cold and rainy this time of year and we are going to need a hot meal. Any ideas on what kind of meal would be good or how to keep the food hot enough with no exsisting heat source at the site?

I am a competitive figure skater and I skate 3-4 hours a day five days a week. I also do an hour and a half of off ice strength and cardio exercises, three times per week. In addition I do 3 hours of modern and ballet classes per week.

I am in fairly good shape right now but would really love to lose a few pounds so that I look better on the ice and you can really see my muscles.

Since becoming a vegetarian I feel like I have been having trouble eating as healthy as I did before. I am eating more ice cream and sweets. I also use to eat fish but haven't been eatting it for one month. I would be willing to eat fish again if it will allow me to lose body fat. Also, my doctor said it would be good for me to eat fish because my blood is showing signs of having some sort of problem. I would really love to find a diet plan that I can stick to and lose weight. If anyone has any books, websites or personal suggestions that would be fantastic. Thanks for any help!

I can't make up my mind! I'm gonna celebrate the Autumn Break (in 3 weeks!) by eating Ben n Jerry's and renting a movie, maybe the Pursuit of Happyness with Will Smith and his son :D. I've tried Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and it was HEAVEN. Here are the flavours available where I shop:

Vanilla Heath Bar Crunch, Caramel Chew Chew, Cherry Garcia, Super New York Fudge Chunk, Phish Food, Fossil Fuel, Chunkey Monkey, Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Strawberry Cheesecake and Chocolate Therapy.

America has so many more flavours to choose from! I live in sweden :( lol. Ok, so which flavour and why?

I do not consider myself a vegetarian. Should I become one? I wouldn't be doing it because of killing of animal. I'd be doing it because of me.

When I was 13 I stopped eating meat for about 3 years. At 16, I occasionally had chicken or tuna. To this day, ( @ 35) I eat very little meat. I drink soy milk and eat alot of tofu, beans and fruits and veggies. I always listened to my body, when it craved certain foods, I eat it. ( not the pregnancy cravings either) I find that my stomach does not digest meats properly therefore I stay away from them unless I am mising something in my diet.
When I was pregnant, I craved hamburgers and seafood. Now, I don't eat seafood nor fish, and maybe once a month if that a burger.
Is there an in between point for someone like me?

What are the equivalent in America, what exactly do you guys call them?

In Britain, a biscuit is a small, sweet, sometimes crunchy snack. Dip it in your tea or coffee, eat. Sometimes chocolate covered - chocolate biscuit. A Kit-Kat is a chocolate biscuit.

Crackers are crunchy, dry, savoury snacks - can be used as an equivalent to a sandwich. Put butter on them, salad, meat, cheese... Anything. But don't dip it in your tea or coffee... Yuck.

Cookies are generally round, chocolate chip, or oatmeal, and almost always have that same, crumbly texture. You could call it a biscuit, but these specific biscuits are cookies.

Remember my question at the start... what is it in America? I heard all biscuits are called cookies, and our term 'crackers' are called biscuits.
