When I awoke this morning I notifed my freezer was cracked open. When I opened it to look inside I noticed that my ice cream had melted all over. My frozen burgers were defrosted. I have tons of lean cuisine meals in there. Everything still felt cold, but soft. Do I need to throw all that food away? Or can I re freeze it? Thanks for your help.

If it is still partly frozen, it is still good.
It wouldn't spoil that fast . It is still good to cook
but you shouldn't refreeze if it's mostly thawed.

Check the food items. Most are okay if you cook them right away. But I wouldn't refreeze any of the meat items. Cook what you can... make casseroles, etc. for some, then freeze the cooked items. Some you may have to toss. As for the Lean Cuisines meals... those were pre-cooked and frozen, you could re-freeze those. Even over night, I'm surprised the meat items were defrosted. I've had that happen, left my freezer door ajar for several hours without realizing it, and things were still frozen.

Don't refreeze anything.

Personally, I would toss the lean cuisine meals and the ice cream, because they just aren't going to taste good. The lean cuisine cooking times are based on them being frozen and when you adjust or mess with the cooking times on those things they come out terrible.

As for the meat...was it still cold? Or room temp? If it was still cold, then cook it up, refrigerate, and eat it within the next few days. I see no difference between how you thawed them and how most people thaw out frozen meats in their refrigerator. If it came to room temperature, then I would toss it. Bacteria grows very fast and I wouldn't want you to get sick. You aren't going to die or anything if you choose to eat it. You may just end up in the bathroom for a while! Sorry that happened to you. Money's tight around my house with a new baby so I understand not wanting to toss it.

Refrozen meat will get freezer burn and will taste terrible. The Lean Cuisine meals you can defrost and eat over the next few days but anything you can't finish in a few days is a loss.

Basically refrozen food gets freezer burn and is terrible. It's a loss.

I would cook the burgers and re-freeze them until you are ready to eat them. The lean cuisines should be okay to re-freeze

The only think I would throw away is meat. It is not good to refreeze meats of any type, this includes chicken. However, you can cook it and then freeze it.
