Food & Drink - 16 August 2007

Should serve 10 as I can't cook proper in small quantities. The usual menu in my head is becoming boring. Have access to ethnic ingredients, beautiful appliances, Please suggest something that's your favorite meal. I can look up recipes, or you can contact my avatar with a favorite recipe, or here, no worries. Other info: love vegies, hate liver and lima beans. Otherwise, no culinary constraints.

.. I dont like meat so that's not the big deal.. I just cant seem to give up bread.. so can vegans eat bread if it's totally whole grain and natural?? I'm talking no hugh fructose corn syrup or Enriched flour or anything like that?

I have thought about getting some red wine for it's health benefits. I thought I would have a glass in the evening. I don't drink anything (beer, wine coolers, etc) so I have no idea which red wine would be "soft" enough for me. I have had sips of wine at like Olive Garden and those were very strong. I thought they actually tasted like stinky feet! Anyway, I just want a daily red wine that isn't too strong. Any suggestions?

Okay Scrubs the funny tv. show spoofing the medical field, with JD, And Doctor Cox, and The girl from Rosanne, (the 2nd Becky) and the guy from Clueless... Okay so hopefully by now you know what I am talking about...

Most recipes for baked goods reccomend substituting something like Splenda for half the sugar in a recipe. Is there any way to have it substitute all the sugar?

I'm not diabetic or anything and I rarely indulge myself like this, but I just like to cut down when I can.

Im a mom, and I just bought a white plastic cutting board, and my husband says that the plastic holds bacteria, and the wood ones don't. I say its the other way around. What about glass? I think all cutting boards could be cleaned with bleach, but since wood is a natural living surface, I think It would hold bacteria. Anyone have any knowledge of this? A chef, or someone from the FDA?
