Here's how I started and no it wasn't hard for me at all.
Get rid of the meat in your house... go to the grocery and stock up on fruits that you like to snack on... also, get recipes for things like stir fry, steamed veggies, and pasta primavera... get enough to eat for a week. get some popcorn... now, make a point to only eat at home, foods that you prepare from fresh veggies... take fruit with you when you leave home and under no circumstance eat away from home, unless you made something at home to take with you...
do that for two to three weeks... by then you should be out of temptations way and have a good idea what you are doing...
Good luck and I hope you get all the benifits that I got when I started...

I suggest starting off small and working your way up. Get some vegetarian cook books and then take the book/books to the grocery store when you shop. That way you can start familiarizing yourself with foods and how they work together. Next cut out meats. One at a time if needs be. Once you get all that going then start looking at labels. What cans contain beef and chick stock and so forth. Or you can just screw that and hire a dietitian/nutritionist to help you plan your meals for a while to start to understand the diet.

This is a really good question. Its a question that is very helpful to avoid illnesses that so many people encounter when they first start. A vegetarian diet is not about eating just fruit and vegetables and that is where a lot of people go wrong. Its about eating a balanced meal plan that takes in fruits, vegies, nuts, legumes, pulses (peas) grains etc.

i would sugest that you get on the website vegetarian society its a great website.

I grew up being a vegetarian but its not too hard, its a choice you make every day of your life, all you have to do is remind yourself why you chose to be a vegetarian in the first place and the meat although you'll find it tempting, you'll stay away from it.
When you're shopping just read the ingredients of the things you want to buy, you can find recipes online for healthy vegetarian dishes and you will find that there are many restaurants that cater to vegetarians as well

Are you doing this because you want to, or because you have to? I'm not a Vegetarian myself, but I figured to do anything at all, is to start small.

You could start your weekly meal with equal amount of meat, fruits, and vegetables, then slowly lowering the amount of meat consume on the weekly basis. Less and less until you can comfortably say that you no longer want any. That way, you won't create strong withdrawals for meat craving, if you do want any.

In case you do have cravings, there are immitation meat in the market that you could have. They are made mostly from soy and I think they taste great.

i all started being vegetarian approximately 4 years in the past in simple terms because of the fact i could no longer endure the thought that and animal had had to DIE in simple terms so i might desire to devour. Then i moved to Spain and that placed me much greater off it because of the fact they take care of the animals even worse than in England (sure, this is definitely achieveable!). Then i got here upon some web content and that they are even putting me off dairy. I never realsied the cruelty that is going on in the back of the cheary packaging. it is so ill. the different reason is that via farming animals this is ruining the ecosystem (investigate here web content for greater archives). additionally inflicting starvation in third international international locations. Then there is the fact that this is the main undesirable thank you to devour, and in simple terms in simple terms no longer needed. It wil make you reside longer being vege because of the fact you have much less threat of coronary heart ailment and maximum cancers. Vege nutrients additionally tastes a hundred% greater suitable. So i for my area can not see the think approximately ingesting meat, this is purely a waste of existence (interior the animals and individuals) and ruining each and every thing with honestly NO reward. Do you settle for homicide of people? Animals can experience a similar soreness.

well kind of funny but i started as a vegetarian as a contest with my sister on who could go the longest without meat products. but it turned out to be so much more. after a few days i was so proud of myself. a couple days l8r my friend introduced me to a book called "Fast Food Nation". and thats wat really got me hooked on being a vegetarian. it told me about the cruel way animals are treated and about the slaughter houses. it sounds like a bad way to turn vegetarian but seriously. if everyone knew about these conditions i KNOW there would be more vegetarian. read the book and ill guarentee u it will help.

When my friend became a vegetarian, she also went to the doctor to find out what types of vitamins and foods she should eat and take that would make up for the nutrients she was losing by not eating meat. Being healthy is key.

Meals don't need to be balanced.

Start small. Focus on introducing new foods: rice, millet, kamut, quinoa, and a dozon types of beans. Cook them in bulk - store them in the frig. Don't forget the produce: pears, kiwi, 7 types of melons, yams, bell peppers, pineapple, etc

When you get used to them, it's easy to stop eating meat.

Doctors are experts in medicine, not nutrition(especially vegetarianism). The idea of healthy eating is to AVOID doctors.....and medicine.
