Ok, my first question is, I want to make kool-aid with splenda, how much splenda do I use for two quarts?

Also, I heard that if you're dieting, it's better to drink a glass of soda than a glass of juice because it's easier to work off the soda. Does anyone know if it's true?

i pass worms often after a rainy shower and see them rolling abot in pain cos either they have been trodden on or have lived in an area away from water for a while and appear desperate for water. I try and give them some if i can but feel guilty about leaving them sufferng and in pain - You wouldn't walk past a stranger who was famished or had his leg broken and I realise they're not human and its difficult to help every1 and everything but I'm a vegan and feel that I should help animals , humans and the environment when I can. I was wondering how other people feel about this...

Mom made a sponge looking dessert that was usually red or green, with or without a cover of ground vanilla wafers. The dessert was semi-sweet and sometimes even had large air holes that looked like a common sponge.

It cut nicely into squares and showed up on a lot of pot luck tables in the 50s. But, I have not seen anything like it for years.

It stood up like jello but much less dense. It was kept in refg. until served, but never melted down like jello. I think cream was involved but I would sure like some now. Any ideas or directions?

My husband and I host a small group at our home on Sunday evenings. We always have a meal afterwards and we theme the meals so everyone can bring something that goes together. So far we have done baked potatoes, bring your favorite cereal, mexican, italian, pizza, and hamburgers.
Everyone in the group wants to continue doing the themes- they say it makes it easier to know what to bring- but we are all out of ideas. Any suggestions?

I'm a backyard (2-4 gallon/year) maple syrup maker. Each year, I get a soft flocculent precipitate when the syrup cools, something like "sugar sand" of niter, but fluffier. If I re-heat the syrup, the precipitate dissolves, then comes back out when the syrup cools. It plugs most filters almost immediately, including the commercial syrup filters. Eventually I can remove it, but it takes several filterings and lots of time. I heard once that you can use milk to coagulate sediment in maple syrup, but I'm hesitant to try it. Anybody else know of this?
