Am I able to eat fish? Is it easy to find vegan alternatives to many foods?

I am making siopao sometime this week (I'm addicted to them, but this is the first time I'll be making them myself), and I need some kind of pork that will be easily shred into little bits when it's done cooking, I'm a beginner, so do I buy a pork chop, roast, what? I really don't know! Please, be specific. Help! And thank you so much!
In case you don't know, siopao are these yummy little steamed Filipino pork buns, oh! They are just to die for, but expensive to buy at the Asian market, so I'm going to make a bunch here at home and freeze some for later.

I've just graduated from instant mixes, so now - I have this new principle when baking: I do things from scratch.
I'd like to know how to make really fluffy from-scratch pancakes.

First of all, I've used an embarrassing amount of baking powder: Like a cup of flour would get about 2-3 tbs of baking powder. They still have that gummy quality.

Second, I'm already aware of over-mixing: makes them gummy and tough.

(Also, I've read about using Bisquik, which I consider a shortcut - no offense but I'm still a learner; soda and carbonated water, too, I think are shortcuts. Very neat tricks, I have to admit but I am still trying to get my bearings with pancakes.)

Or is it that the secret is in the eggs: whisking them until they're light and airy themselves?

Though, if you do know any other tricks and shortcuts, I'd love to hear about them, too. I'd like to see my options.

Cheers!

I want to make biscuits that look really appealing and taste really nice. But I don't want to do something really hard for a start. Oh and please give me websites that got all the steps and pictures of biscuits!

Can this be done or will it explode? If it can be done, how long do you nuke the egg?

My humidor keeps dropping well below the 70-80% range that it is suggested to be kept at. I constantly have to re-moisture the inside of it as the instructions tell me to, but I'm wondering if it is normal to have to do it at such a constant rate (every 3 or 4 days).

i want a great 21st party with the nice wallpaper behind as a backdrop for my guests to have their photo taken by the photographer. i want my party to be like a clubbing event and also cater to my aunts and uncle who just need a nice place to chill and have a beer. with a buffet line like a cocktail party, i need a space which can let me do all 3. my cousins are also coming, some at the age of 12 or so and i cant make things too 'over' as it will be a bad example. im thinkin of a place with a minimum of 2 rooms so i can hold my different guests and a hall large enough ofr 150ppl to mingle around with enough space as they drink and chat up. a bartender will also be necessary as im not intending to let the alcohols be like a buffet line. im living in singapore so getting a space which can fit my requirements is pretty hard. give me ideas please!! :-) check out my blog for the ideas that im heading at. www.xanga.com/dalethecurry

I really like the stuff but they don't sell it in stores here, and I kinda want to get some more.
I know people sell it on eBay but I'd like to know of other shops. I don't care if the site's in German, French or English, just as long as they ship to the US...
