You ask as if these concepts are mutaully exclusive. Technically speaking, ALL vegetables are "starches: since they contain some form of sugar, to fuel their metabolism. Are you asking if they're in the category of a potato or rice in terns of the carbohydrate dispensed, well no they're not, but even those guys are vegetables.

Let me make this simpler. Whats the problem with what you are referring to as "starches?" We've already laid to rest the erroneous conclusions about low carb dieting if you just krept out of the 90's.
