My humidor keeps dropping well below the 70-80% range that it is suggested to be kept at. I constantly have to re-moisture the inside of it as the instructions tell me to, but I'm wondering if it is normal to have to do it at such a constant rate (every 3 or 4 days).

70-80% is too high for starters...you want your humi in the 60-70% range...

I am wondering if you are having a seal problem in your humi...I am also wondering if maybe you bought a used humi or at least a used humidifaction system...sometimes the sponges get worn out so to speak, where they don't hold as much water as when they were new..If your humi is new, then I am wondering if you properly seasoned it before adding your cigars...Cedar absorbs moisture, so if you added your cigars prior to getting a consistant humidity level, then your humi is pulling the moisture out of your cigars...if this is the case...remove your cigars and season your humi for 2-3 days to get a consistant reading..then put your cigars inside.

Last I recommend Boveda Paks or Humi-Paks (still made by Boveda) these paks are a 2 way humidication system, where if your humi gets too humid, the pak absorbs it, and if it gets low, they dispense humity..they are about 4 bucks a pak and they are the best invention ever...they last about 4-6 months and boy do they work...they also sell a season pak if you need to still do that.

feel free to email me if your still having probs.

There is a special solution you can put on the sponge to keep it moist.
