Spaghetti Puttanesca

4 medium garlic cloves, minced to paste or pressed through garlic press (1 packed tablespoon)
1 tablespoon water
Salt
1 package (16 ounces) spaghetti
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
4 teaspoons anchovies, minced (about 8 fillets)
1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes, drained, 1/2 cup juice reserved
3 tablespoons capers, rinsed
1/2 cup black olives (such as Gaeta, Alfonso or Kalamata), pitted and chopped coarse (see note)
1/4 cup fresh parsley leaves, minced

Bring 4 quarts water to rolling boil in large Dutch oven or stockpot. Meanwhile, mix garlic with 1 tablespoon water in small bowl; set aside.

When water is boiling, add 1 tablespoon salt and pasta; stir to separate pasta.

Immediately heat oil, garlic mixture, red pepper flakes and anchovies in large skillet over medium heat; cook, stirring frequently, until garlic is fragrant but not brown, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in tomatoes and simmer until slightly thickened, about 8 minutes.

Cook pasta until al dente. Drain, then return pasta to pot; add 1/4 cup reserved tomato juice (from canned tomatoes) and toss to combine.

Stir capers, olives and parsley into sauce. Pour sauce over pasta and toss to combine, adding more tomato juice to moisten if necessary. Adjust seasonings with salt; serve immediately.

if you give me a few ingredients I can whip you up a recipe.

how about stuffed tomatoes and green peppers.

cut the bottoms off the tomatoes and the peppers.scrape out the middle with a tea spoon.

make a bolognese sauce and add what you have taken out of the tomatoes, add half a cup of rice to the mixture and half a cup of water. let it simmer for 20 mins, then fill each tomato and pepper.
put the lids back on the top of the peppers and tomatoes grate cheese on the top and bake in the oven for 1 1/2 hours.

its DELISH.

Depends what he likes. Sometimes good old-fashioned plain grub goes down really well. I've discovered a real favourite with my bloke to be grilled lamb chops with dark green cabbage and baby boiled potatoes. Simple and tasty. Another easy one is frozen fish in breadcrumbs with peas, potatoes, home-made parsley sauce and a wedge of lemon. Other favourites include curry - either chicken, turkey or beef, chilli-con-carne with either baked spud or rice and a salad, bangers and mash, and chicken casserole. I sometimes walk round marks and spencer - look at the ready made meals and then buy the indredients to make these myself. Cheaper and generally tastier.

Hope this helps.

Boil some potatoes then mash them while putting two lovely salmon steaks in a piece of foil sprinkle them with salt, pepper and garlic if desired, cover then put in the oven at about 180 for fifteen minutes, accompany with a veg of your choice. Lovely.

Need more info. I would say some steak and potato, or Sea-food. Salmon New Orleans. A white Alfredo sauce smothered over some shrimp and salmon, with steamed vegetables.

The bbc website is great all you have to do is input some ingrediants you've already got and they list recipes that use these, saves you having to go out and buy a load of stuff you'll probably not use again.

Shepherd's pie. Or a roast. Chuck a chicken in the oven, throw in some potatoes, a packet of frozen vegetables and bob's your uncle.
